Stunning - Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. We toured the outside of the cathedral and visited the Baptistery before climbing the dome. Amazing experience to see the dome and ceiling frescos close up, and fabulous views from the top!

Amazing Tour - Perfect guided tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Her passion for Florence, for the Duomo and for the art in the Duomo museum were obvious, and her explanations were enlightening. The walk up the Duomo was a bit tough - 466 steps - but now and again there was a little break of a few meters that broke a bit the climb. Net, you need to have a minimum level of fitness to go up because it’s a bit tough, but in the end I managed to do it more easily than I had feared. And once on the top, all I could think was « Wow ». The view was simply overwhelming.

Loved it - Great tour! We did the last run of the day and I loved seeing the sunset at the top of the dome. Our guide did a great job choosing strategic places to pause and talk about what we were seeing (places not as crowded, with seating, on landings, etc.) The climb isn't that bad. Yes, wear sneakers and prepare to be winded, but the guide stops at landings and there are times you pause for another group ahead so you have a chance to catch your breath. It's not a continuous 500 steps.

Best view of Florence - Loved it! The stair climbing was intense but the view at the top of the dome and from the balconies inside the cathedral was well worth it. Our guide Francesca was so knowledgeable and gave amazing insight into Duomo’ creation.

Long line at Duomo in October. - The entrance line to the Duomo was extremely long. Being able to skip it was wonderful. If we hadn’t done the tour, I don’t know if I would have waited that long. Probably 1.5 hrs. We are visiting in mid October, I can’t imagine a summer line. The museum was ok, but the Duomo was incredible. It is beyond impressive. I would definitely take the tour if you’re planning a trip to Florence.

Frustrating - The battery for the guide’s microphone died a half hour into the tour. Had a difficult time hearing explanations. This was preventable which made the situation frustrating and disappointing. When you spend a lot of money for a guided tour, you want to be able to hear.
