Visit the museum, it's worth it - Visit of Hagia Sophia and the museum (which I highly recommend). An excellent experience, certainly quite expensive (2400 LT), but definitely worth a visit.

As beautiful as expensive - Very beautiful. Very expensive, as indeed any monument in Istanbul. Too bad you can only see it passing from the top. I recommend going early to avoid the queues (which at certain times are quite feasible without turning to the super expensive skip the line).

Amazing experience of visiting the ancient ottoman kingdom and seeing the city as a big new east culture - The opportunity to visit the markets, bookshops and, other sites let me know how the city is related with the Bosphorus region and the old culture behind the Ottoman Empire.

Beautiful place for an unfair price - Beautiful building in a beautiful place. However the ticket price is too high for what you get in return. Non-muslims can't visit the bottom floor, so you can just walk around the second floor which is not a lot of time.

Watch it from the outside and save - I don't think €25 is worth the price of the visit. Besides, if you go in summer, if you have bare knees (even men) they make you buy for €3 a kind of tunic. The length of the trousers is then decided quite subjectively by the staff. I don't know...certainly fascinating in its history, from Church to Mosque, but it seems to me that they just want to make money by virtue of its past. I do not recommend it. Look at it from the outside which is better.

DON'T GET RIPPED OFF - If you buy your tickets in person outside the entrance you will get the hard sell to buy the more expensive full ticket costing €45 which includes entrance to the museum a ten minute walk away. If you only want access to the main viewing gallery insist on the cheaper ticket around €22. Either way you won't get access to the ground floor unless you're here to pray.

UNDERWHELMING . Official Kiosk = official rip-off + it really is not worth the visit - Rip-off even by the official ticket kiosk . The sign says €25 but no other price list is given. After a long queue , the kiosk Teller asks whether you want partial or full ticket . Add in the pressure of queue behind you , conversion rates and the price they present you is on a calculator PER PERSON , one ends up paying €100 for a balcony view , and access to some museum which was never explained .
When you complain that you did not wish to go to any museum you get a SHRUG OF THE SHOULDERS .
They are only interested in revenue generation NOT customer satisfaction .

Official ticket kiosk = officially try to swindle you - Be careful even the official Kiosk will try to swindle you .
There are no written down prices except OVER the kiosk they say €25 per ticket .
Once at the kiosk they SAY do you want to see the whole attraction ie they don’t specify .
You assume ‘yes’ you want to see the Hagia Sophia but they bundle in another museum tour making the ticket €50 EACH . You assume the €50 is the total price which it isn’t.
Add in that at they show you a price in Turkish Lira ir it’s in 000’s and nothing is written down on a piece of paper you have no clarification of what you’re buying .

Huge disappointment - The 25€ ticket is already very expensive for what you will see there, but they will try to sell you the 50€ ticket including the museum (very regular scam). Then you will only have access to the first floor where a roped limit will prevent you from approaching the balcony. Certainly the place is steeped in history but they made it a cash factory, the restorations are disappointing despite the financial windfall of the operation.
Very disappointing, to avoid!
