Sailing the Caribbean: A Day on the Janise Lagoon
When the opportunity to sail the Caribbean Sea on a private event aboard the Janise Lagoon presented itself, I couldn’t resist. With the promise of snorkeling, delicious food, and a day on the water, it was an adventure I had to experience firsthand.
Setting Sail on the Janise Lagoon
The sun was just beginning to rise as I made my way to the Safe Harbor Puerto Del Rey, the largest marina in the Caribbean. The anticipation of a day spent on the water had me buzzing with excitement. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my playground, and today, I was about to embark on a new adventure aboard the Janise Lagoon 380. The promise of a private event on the Caribbean Sea was too tempting to resist.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly crew, Captain Ricardo, Ashley, and Condido. Their warm smiles and easy-going nature set the tone for the day. The Janise Lagoon was a beauty, spacious and pristine, with plenty of comfortable spots to lounge. I found my place on the net at the bow, feeling the gentle sway of the ocean beneath me as we set sail towards the islands of Piñeros and Palomino.
The journey was nothing short of magical. The sun kissed my skin as the wind played with my hair, and the sound of the waves was a soothing melody. It was a perfect day for a sea voyage, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience the Caribbean in such an intimate way.
Snorkeling in Paradise
As we approached the first island, I was eager to dive into the crystal-clear waters. Captain Ricardo pointed out the best spots for snorkeling, and I wasted no time in exploring the vibrant underwater world. The reefs were teeming with life, and I was mesmerized by the colorful fish darting around me. It was a surreal experience, one that reminded me of why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place.
After an hour of snorkeling, I returned to the boat to find a delicious barbecue lunch waiting for us. The crew had prepared a feast of grilled chicken, rice, veggies, and a fresh salad. The flavors were a delightful blend of local ingredients, and it was the perfect way to refuel after a morning of adventure.
With our appetites satisfied, we set sail for a deeper reef. This was the moment I had been waiting for—a chance to snorkel in 18-foot deep waters. As a seasoned swimmer, I relished the challenge, but it was comforting to know that Captain Ricardo was keeping a watchful eye on us. The highlight of the dive was spotting two sea turtles, including a baby, gracefully gliding through the water. It was a sight that took my breath away and one that I will cherish forever.
A Tranquil Return
As the day drew to a close, we began our journey back to the marina. The ride was peaceful, a perfect time to reflect on the day’s adventures and share stories with the crew. We chatted about our experiences in Puerto Rico, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with my fellow travelers.
The Caribbean Sea Voyage on the Janise Lagoon was everything I had hoped for and more. It was a day filled with laughter, exploration, and a deep connection with the ocean. For anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable experience in Fajardo, I wholeheartedly recommend this Caribbean Sea Voyage. It’s a journey that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
