• Cromeleque dos Almendres - The starting point for this excursion is the Roman Temple of Évora. From there, participants will enjoy a 25-minute drive to the trail leading to the Menir of Almendres. A scenic 5–10 minute walk will follow, leading to this remarkable solitary standing stone. Please be aware that the path to the Menir is in poor condition, which may pose challenges for those with limited mobility.

Next, a 10-minute drive will take us toward the Cromlech of Almendres. Due to a section of the road being collapsed from municipal neglect, we will walk the remaining distance, approximately 30 minutes one-way, to reach the Cromlech of Almendres, often called the Stonehenge of Portugal. At the site, we will delve into discussions about the Neolithic era and explore various theories related to the monument. Participants will gain insights into the site’s history from archaeologists who specialize in the region’s prehistory.

• Centro Interpretativo dos Almendres - After visiting the Almendres Cromlech, we will walk back to the car for 30 minutes and then drive 25 minutes out of the Almendres complex. During this time, discussions about the region’s prehistory will continue.
  As we exit the property, there will be a stop at the interpretive center and gift shop, allowing some free time for browsing and exploration.

The return journey to Évora will then begin, with drop-offs scheduled between 12:00-13:00 (morning tour) and 17:00-18:00 (afternoon tour).
