Spiritual Megaliths?? We'll never know for Sure! - Four Canucks decided to take this tour from Evora. We figured we could find some of the megaliths on our own but wanted to tap into the knowledge of archaeologists to truly understand the meaning of them. After seeing the roads into the megaliths, we were VERY glad we did. Not sure why Portugal doesn't try and grade these roads a little, but, perhaps it is to keep down the numbers of people visiting them. Turns out that one of our tour guides, Bianca, is a Canuck too! She and her partner, Gonsalo (he who masters the pot holes) brought us safely to the megaliths and the dolmen. While these structures look spiritual, feel spiritual and common belief is that they were intended for spiritual reasons, these true scientists at heart said that we will never know FOR SURE. Outlander fiction aside, I WANTED to believe but, alas, will have to settle for the fact that it is uncertain. Gotta love a mystery. All in all, a great tour. Sure, you can take your rental car to some of these but I hope your insurance is paid up and and your understanding will be cheapened by not hearing the details from two experts.
