Great wine and more - This was not just a wine tasting, but also a bit of history lesson. The day of our tour was windy and rainy but João made the best of it and we had a great time. The Arraiolos castle was very interesting and the rug museum was fascinating. The wine tasting was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.

A pleasant activity from the beginning. - The activity, pleasantly surprised us, its vineyards, the estate, and an impressive collection of carriages. But the best thing was the attention, the treatment, and kindness of Juan and Ricardo, which we have enjoyed pleasantly.

Intimate tour off the beaten path - Excellent guide - extremely well-versed in Portuguese culture and history! He had answers to all our questions and showed us the less known (but fascinating!) culture of the greater Évora area. If you’re looking for a local guide to take you off the beaten path (and a refreshing wine tasting to cool off!) - this is the one to go for!

Amazing way to learn about Evora - We’re three young adults and could not have had a better experience on this tour. We expected this to just be a wine tasting but we got much more than that. João is extremely knowledgeable of Evora’s history and showed us the most beautiful parts of the landscape and made some stops to and from the winery which was amazing. We can’t recommend this experience enough!

Glorious day in the Alentejo. - We enjoyed our morning with Joao who was very knowledgeable and energetic as we passed through the aqueduct and the cork farms. We visited Arriolos to see the rug-making museum, shops and the winery. The winery was lovely and welcoming with an unexpected tour of a private horse drawn carriage museum. The tasting was informative and delicious. Joao is a great host who has a lot of pride in his country. Highly recommend.

Great tour, with our great, witty, and knowledgeable guide, Pedro! - This was such a fun and interesting excursion into the region’s food, history, culture, food and wine. Pedro, our guide (a high school geography teacher) was fantastic! His English was impeccable; he’s friendly, witty, and has a deep knowledge of the region, from where he was born and raised. Highlights included a stop at a medieval village with an unusual round castle perched above all around the surrounding countryside—great views from the castle walls—and a stop in town for delicious Portuguese pastries (not included in the price, but very inexpensive). On the way, Pedro chatted about history, cork harvesting, and so much more. The wine tour was in an spectacularly beautiful place, guided by a young, local woman employed by the winery who was knowledgeable, funny, and an expert on the six wines we tried. Before the tasting, she showed us the vines, a collection of historic horse drawn carriages, and the expansive grounds (they not only make wine; olive oil, cork, and dairy farming are among the other things produced at the site, owned by one of the wealthiest families in Portugal). Because we were the only ones who signed up for the tour at this particular time, we got the equivalent of a private tour (another group became a second group with a different guide), an added bonus! Highly recommended; ask for Pedro!

Great tour to learn about Portugal - We had a fantastic time on this tour! There were 4 of us on the tour so we felt special having Jaõa all to ourselves. He drove us to Arraiolos to learn about rug making in the area. We then went to the castle ruins and wandered around for a few minutes. Our next stop was the winery and boy, is it beautiful. There was a small tour first before we tried the wines (5). I'm not much of a wine drinker but my friends are and loved them. Jaõa then stared to drive back to Evorâ but made slight detour off the road to go over cork trees. He explained how important cork is to the community, the country, and the environment. We all thoroughly enjoyed Jaõa's information and hospitality.
