• Danakil Depression - Day 01: Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera and drive to Ahmed Ella

Upon arrival at Semera airport, you will be greeted by our staff and driven to Ahmed Ella. Along the way, enjoy the stunning landscapes of solidified lava, rock, sand, and occasional palm-lined oases. After passing several small hamlets, visit Ahmad Ella village, home to over 500 people, to experience the lifestyle of the local Afar community. Finally, proceed to Salt Lake Asale, a vast salty lake where you can swim in a natural pool while admiring the sunset reflections on the salty ground.

• Erta Ale - Day 02: Visit Dallol, then drive to Erta Ale

After breakfast, drive to Dallol to explore the unique landscapes shaped by volcanic activity. Situated 125 meters below sea level, it is one of the lowest and hottest places on Earth. Discover colorful salt mining areas and various terrestrial formations created by volcanic activity, including a bubbling oily lake. Return to Ahmad Ella for lunch, then continue to Erta Ale. Spend the night observing the dramatic boiling lava. Erta Ale is one of Ethiopia’s most captivating and physically demanding natural attractions. It is a shield volcano with a base diameter of 30 km and a 1 km square caldera at its summit. Erta Ale hosts the world’s only permanent lava lake, one of only five globally, and has been active since the early 20th century.

• Afdera - Day 03: Drive from Erta Ale to Lake Afdera, then to Semera and fly to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive to Afdera, known for salt extraction. Named after the saline Lake Afdera in the southern Afar Depression, it is a major salt extraction site in Ethiopia, where lake water is pumped into saltpans for solar evaporation. After lunch, continue to Semera airport for your flight to Addis Ababa.

• Lalibela - Day 04: Fly from Addis Ababa to Lalibela

Upon arrival at Lalibela airport, you will be taken to your hotel. After lunch, visit the first group of seven churches nestled in rock cradles: Bet Golgotha, Bet Mika’el, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danagl, and Bet Medhane Alem. Bet Medhane Alem, the largest, resembles a Greek Temple, with a stone floor polished by countless visitors, reflecting light from high wall apertures. In a corner, three empty graves symbolically represent biblical patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Later, visit the other group of Lalibela’s rock churches, including Bet Giyorgis, possibly the most elegant, located in the southwest part of the village on a sloping rock terrace.

• Addis Ababa - Day 05: Fly from Lalibela to Addis Ababa

In the morning, after breakfast, visit the remaining churches of Lalibela, such as Bete Gabriel, Bete Marqorios, Bete Emmanuel, and Bete Aba Libanos. Later, drive to the airport for your flight to Addis Ababa.
