Great tasting food & drink tour - Having received a voucher for Hello Food Tours, we booked a tour of Saffron Walden, a town we often visit. Rachel introduced our small group  to a number of places we had not tried before for generous tastings of delicious food and drink. She clearly knew her venues and owners and provided us with well balanced background on the food, the venue with an interesting amount of history on Saffron Walden itself. We really did enjoy this event and actually followed up by booking a long weekend stay in Saffron Walden so that we can return to some of the venues we tried.

A fantastic food, drink and history experience in pretty Saffron Walden - Eat and drink your way through pretty Saffron Walden! A delicious and very interesting way to learn about this market town. I joined Rachel on one of her food tours in Saffron Walden last Thursday, a place I called home many years ago. Over the last 16 years, there has been a significant transformation here. Once a sleepy market town with many chain coffee shops, it has now become a foodie heaven where coffee roasters, a bean-to-bar chocolate artisan, and a craft beer bar are amongst many excellent foodie businesses which have settled here. Of course, you can trail around Saffron Walden yourself, but it is much better with the guidance of a foodie who not only introduces you to delicious food and the owners of carefully selected businesses, but also shares the local history of the area you are visiting. I highly recommend joining this tour, having eaten my way around the world on many food tours, and I might even return with a friend or join Rachel's Bishop Stortford food tour.

A completely different wonderful day out - We were given this experience for a gift, and what an experience it was! Rachel was so knowledgeable of the lovely historic town of Saffron Walden which we walked around. The foodie venues she took us to, were so welcoming and fed us tasty homemade titbits. The owners and their staff obviously all worked so hard to make their businesses a success, which they had achieved. It was a very memorable day and one we would definitely recommend, and one we will be repeating.

A must for all foodies - Had a very enjoyable informative walk around Saffron Walden with our guide Rachel. She is very passionate about food & history. We were treated to the most delicious locally made/sourced food. The business owners were very friendly and it was very interesting hearing their stores of how they arrived here. I will definitely be back to visit more of the wonderful eateries of Saffron Walden.

Excellent food tour in historic, vibrant Saffron Walden - Thoroughly enjoyed Rachel’s food tour of Saffron Walden. Rachel is a delight, friendly and knowledgeable and although we shop fairly regularly in the town she showed us some shops and cafes which we didn’t know existed. All the venues and food tastings were impressive, from a wet fish shop, to a wonderful baker and a chocolatier. It was great to meet the hardworking and dedicated owners and staff and with its many vibrant independent businesses we can understand why Saffron Walden has been voted the number one place in the UK to live.

Day trip from Cambridge - If you go to Saffron Walden from Cambridge, it's likely to see St Mary's, the lovely, huge Perpendicular wool parish church included in Simon Jenkins' "England's Thousand Best Churches." Saffron Walden is also an ancient market town, full of wonky old buildings, where saffron was grown to dye wool yellow during the later Middle Ages. Rachel, the tour leader, is knowledgeable about the commercial history of the town and the old shops and markets, some with pargeting. The result is that you get a very good walking tour of the center of the town with a nice lunch along the way. Of the food establishments visited, the chocolatier, Hill St., is outstanding.
