• Lake Issyk - Lake Issyk is a stunning body of water situated at an elevation of 1,760 meters in the Issyk Gorge of the Trans-Ili Alatau, approximately 70 km east of Almaty. It is surrounded by lush forests and expansive flower fields. The lake was created around 8,000 years ago due to a massive rock avalanche, which formed a 300-meter high natural dam. In 1939, development around the lake increased, but it was devastated by a glacial mudflow in 1963.
