- Parco Acheologico di Ercolano - We offer a driver who can provide transportation and advice gained through years of experience to make this your memorable tour! Through the very panoramic SS. 145 which runs alongside Castellammare di Stabia, we discover the excavations of Herculaneum, which like Pompeii, was destroyed during the eruption of 79 AD Surrounded by the villas of the Roman patricians during the eruption it was submerged by a torrent of mud and lava. The mass of debris that covered Herculaneum subsequently solidified into tuff. This process of solidification has kept intact objects and wooden parts, which are still visible and well preserved today. However, much of the ancient city is still buried under the modern Herculaneum, and excavation work is still in progress to discover what still lies beneath the modern city. Considered
the smaller sister of Pompeii, is a destination for lovers of beauty. Visitors to the ancient city have the rare opportunity to see patrician villas perfectly intact. A miracle of preservation in which even the wood and strings of the 2000 year old city are exhibited, along with the stunning brick work, mosaics and frescoes. The detail with which Herculaneum has been preserved is remarkable considering the violence of the 500 ° C volcanic flows, which devastated the city.
the cost of entrance tickets to the Herculaneum archaeological site - 11 euros
- Positano - Starting from Sorrento it takes about 45 minutes to reach Positano, Driving downhill directly through Positano, going down the one-way street unique in its panorama, passing through many local restaurants, leads to the heart of the city - the busy central Piazza dei Mulini, which is connected to a narrow downhill path that leads to the seafront. In Piazza dei Mulini, it is necessary to leave the car as all the roads leading to the promenade are only for pedestrians. These roads also lead to the cathedral, shops selling ceramics, lemons, shoes and “Positano fashion” clothing. There is a short walk uphill to get back to the car and this time, going up the mountain, returning to the main coastal road that leads to Amalfi.
Here we are at the destination of our tour, and the right time and the right place to stop in one of the many typical restaurants that are along our itinerary, lunched calmly, we continue along the coastal road, this starts after Sorrento, crosses Positano, the fishing villages of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini, and continue until you reach the crowded square of Amalfi which is located in front of the sea - port and a long stretch of pebble beach. Opposite the port of Amalfi, there is the one and only bus station along the coast. Behind this square is the main shopping street of Amalfi that ends at the furthest and highest point of the city. Along the pedestrian street are various bars and cafes, not to mention the numerous shops selling limoncello, casual wear, swimwear, gifts, basic groceries, and of course, ceramics. However, if you would like to see more than just shops, Amalfi boasts some interesting places to explore: the most spectacular cathedral along the coast, the paper factory and its museum. An uphill walk along a very narrow road that passes several wineries and olive factories etc ….
- Piazza Tasso - Our first stop will be made in Sorrento. To reach the international city of Sorrento it is necessary to drive the coastal road to its furthest point. Spectacular views of the entire Gulf of Naples and the island of Capri (which was once joined to Sorrento) are revealed as the Amalfi coast road emerges from above the mountain cliff. A short trip through the city before arriving in the center - an important commercial center for the local population and tourists, with many shops (normally open between 09: 00-13: 00 and from 16:00 - 20:00, approximately) . Sorrento, despite being a city from the past, has an interesting history “Correale di Terranova” museum, which can be visited in the morning, with a stop of about 2 hours
