A worthwhile challenge. - Me and a friend spent a rare child free day at the prison and had a go at the escape room. I was worried that it would be easy. It was absolutely not! And we didn't escape 😂 Definitely worth doing and it's something a bit different. The staff were all brilliant and helpful without giving anything away. Would recommend Definitely.

Thrilling, exciting & brilliant - We did the prison escape experience (no option to choose on drop down) and it was absolutely amazing! So immersive, funny, exciting and thrilling. We really got into the roles and managed to escape in 2 hour 12 minutes

Fantastic!!! - Fantastic morning. Escape room was fun and the tour was really interesting we had a great morning and all the staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable

Great way to spend half a day! - Great day - stayed off being greeted by Sharon on reception who was a wealth of knowledge and warmth. Escapes room challenging and great fun, the self guided tour was an added bonus. Really great way to spend half a day. Great brew and cake in the cafe after! Everyone we met on the day (staff wise) was brilliant. Looks like a great place to work - the irony)

Shrewsbury prison escape room - Amazing experience for me and my two boys. Escape room very difficult to crack but still very enjoyable. Then free to wander around the prison and take in all the history of the place

Interesting and well constructed escape room - Interesting if you have never been to a prison before. And the escape room activity was well constructed. Overall I would say it is a little pricey, and the prison itself is not very different from (for example) Shepton Mallett, so I wouldn't bother if you have been to another prison.

Prison esacale room was fab. Staff very knowledgeable. - It was good. Almost got out…. Was very hard but good fun all the same. Staff were great and helpful. Thanks for the experience.

Prison Cell Break - disappointing - The experience needed a bit more structure so we knew what order we needed to open locked items. A copy of the leaders briefing in the cell would have also been useful. Although the leader would give us a clue it got a bit boring when we couldn’t progress.

Wasted my day - I would have paid more money not to have done this experience - Very disappointing don’t waste your money. Confusing, amateur, pointless , chaotic Read on so you know exactly what to expect - First we were led into our cells no brief how to play the game , when we were prompted we unlocked the box and found out instructions in the box , not professional scruffy used pieces of paper which I noticed first . When we solved the puzzle it was pointless ? Still had to wait for guard to unlock us ? At this point I thought it could only get better ? Then we were took to the fitness guard who gave us a skipping rope and was told to do that for a few mins before we got our stamp to move on to another locked cell which we supposedly at to work out the clue (it had already been done by another prison in mate- thanks buddy but it would have been nice to do it ourselves ) the next was a nurse guard who asked us some pointless questions and believe me they were pointless then we were showed to a board with information on , at that point it was getting even more confusing Proceeded to the education guard where we did a few quiz , problem questions again pointless not very engaging, his language although at this point I didn’t care but it was offensive and uncalled for, prison yes but if there had been children about ?? Then the last was the cook - chef This was a joke , told to design something using ketchup sachets ? Then told to unscramble some analogue words off a scruffy uncared, shared notice board. Again it would have been nice to work these out ourselves but others shouted out before us Asked at one point if we could find out the history of the place which one of the guards filled us in a little , he then gave us contraband and money to get out of prison , at that point I think I would have given him the money to get me out of It was embarrassing, Purchased this experience for my hubby as a present and it was the worst two hours we had for a long time and that’s saying something coming from someone like myself who as had a pretty hard time over the years with my health. The place itself was amazing , you truly got the sense of how prison life was. Coming from Shrewsbury walking past nearly everyday I had always wondered what it was like inside but spending £70 each to experience that I feel was too much for what we actually got and to be honest the organizers are taking you for a fool and to be honest this review needed to be said so that a - they might take note and improve things Changes need to be done NOW going forward , more staff needed more interaction, confusion of the game must be sorted out , pointless tasks definitely need to be addressed. I am sorry that I had to write this review I don’t normally do this but the event organizers not the staff as it’s not their fault need to be taken into account

Awful customer service and experience. - For my 50th birthday we decided to take my family and my sisters kids to visit the prison and breakout room and paid extra for the package that said it would include orange suits , meet with a guard and then a brief tour . The kids were really excited On arrival it was unorganised and we spent 45 mins waiting around in the cold with everyone else before the general tour took place and our breakout room. We complained on the day that we had not had the prison overalls and meet with the guide etc that the kids had really looked forward to and were basically dismissed. The staff seemed uninterested. I emailed to complain but only had a reply to state we owed them for the parking but that they would waive it as a gesture of goodwill . Since February we have emailed and spoken to several persons including 2 managers , mostly the emails are ignored for weeks , we only ask for an update about every 2-4 weeks but rarely get one, the last being John who advised in early June that the sales team would be in touch. As usual nothing heard since, despite chase up email 2 weeks later . So 4.5 months later we have finally decided to write a review . The experience was overpriced under delivered and disappointing . Breakout cell was very basic with clues and quite boring . The Jack the Ripper breakout near Aberystwyth is Cheaper and much much better with fantastic staff These things happen on occasion but could easily have been rectified. however , The lack of common courtesy in responding and just following up on what they promised rather than just fobbing us off or just ignoring a complaint is the real issue that the company needs to address . We are still awaiting a refund for the substandard experience and would not recommend this to anyone which is a shame as basic customer service could have easily rectified this and we would have recommended others try out this local attraction rather than alienate two families who will now be advising people not to visit .
