Enjoyable Relaxing Nature Cruise - A wonderful way to explore the region. Jack was a knowledgeable and entertaining host. His enthusiasm for the region was also appreciated. We had stunning weather and enjoyed a relaxing time watching the scenery pass and natural wildlife and birdlife the highlight. I would recommend this cruise to anyone of any age. From young children to the elderly. I would say this is a “must do” light adventure for the region. We loved it!

A MUST to do in Albany! - It was exactly as advertised and more. Captain Jack made the whole trip. His knowledge and personality was perfect for this type of tour.

Do yourself a favour, and book! - Great experience. Jack was so full of information about Albany, its history, the indigenous people and their language and the wildlife. He has a great way of telling all his stories and has a boyish sense of humour 😂. I most definitely learnt a lot. And the damper bread was to die for, so so yummy. Do yourself a favour and book!

Kalgan Cruise - We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise up the Kalgan River with Captain Jack! It was so awesome to see Sea Eagles and Hawks dive down and pick up fish that had been thrown in the water. Jack fills the whole time with history dating right back to the 1600’s, funny stories of his own life running the cruise and also local stories. He has a wealth of knowledge about the numerous birds seen along the way. A lovely cuppa and his mums homemade damper topped it off. Thanks for a great time.

Informative and interesting - Jack was very passionate about sharing his knowledge and love of the area. Amazing that as a young man he loves the birdlife and has several birds that also love his daily tours. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip

Best Adventure day out - This was a one of the most fantastic river cruises I have been on. Jack was so funny and informative about the tour. I would recommend this as one of the things to do in Albany. Price is also great.

Wildlife boat trip - A great trip. We saw so many birds including sea eagles, ospreys, pelicans, herons, cormorants. The captain was really knowledgeable on the subject of birds (and other subjects) and worked hard to set up some great wildlife photo opportunities

Gentle travel on enclosed waters with terrific informative narration. - Captain Jack and his first mate ‘Perch’ (who looked after the berth whilst we went out on the water) make a hilarious and informative start to a terrific gentle cruise from Emu Point across the Sound and up the Kalgan River. Entertaining and informative, kind and generous, Captain Jack is the real deal. This is good company with lots of ‘value-add’ to a gentle few hours on the water. Snacks and delicious foods were included along with tea and coffee. (Toilet on board.) Book direct with the company for seniors’ discounts (if that’s an aspect of your group), but hey why not just book direct anyway?! Do ‘cruise’ with Jack the next time you’re in Albany!

Amazing Experience - Cannot be faulted! - Captain Jack took over the Kalgan Queen cruises 17 years ago, from his father who built the Kalgan Queen. Cruising Oyster Harbour and the beautiful Kalgan River is an incredible experience not to be missed. The roof of the boat can be lowered to get under the bridges, even when the water is high due to the floods as it was last week. Viewing the birdlife, pelicans, white breasted sea eagles, ospreys, cormorants etc at such close quarters was amazing; the atmosphere was friendly, the morning tea (local oysters, strawberries, savoury damper, tea and coffee) was yummy, the stories interesting, and Captain Jack even writes poetry and keeps bees for honey! Highly recommend this brilliant cruise!
