Relaxing and educational tour - The tour is historic and relaxing. We started on the beach and the Ionian ocean was refreshing. The beach set up and facilities were perfect and the service was excellent. The tour of Olympia was educational, short enough to understand and absorb the information. The bus ride was comfortable and timely. Our tour guide Christop was patient, accommodating and very helpful. Great tour to get a small flavor of this part of Greece.

A tour not to be missed - An outstanding tour guide who provided a perspective on Olympia and the history of the Olympics. Our tour guide provided an insight to the basis of the games which will help me understand the traditions upon which the games were founded. The beaches that we were taken to were outstanding and served as a wonderful backdrop for a spectacular day.

Amazing day with Avalon Travel! - We arrived at Katakolon Port with Royal Caribbean. Right after booking, we received a detailed email outlining the meeting process, which was a great first impression. Pickup at the port was seamless, and the 45-minute drive to Olympia was comfortable. Upon arrival, our guide was already waiting for us, ready to start the tour. The guided tour of the Archaeological Site of Olympia was truly captivating, with the guide keeping us engaged throughout. We also had some time to take pictures afterward, which was a nice bonus! Our group of around 20 people in total, collectively decided to skip the scheduled stop at the Village due to the heat, opting instead for extra time at Kourouta Beach. The tour escort (unfortunately i cannot remember her name) was very accommodating and made the change on the fly. We ended up spending nearly two hours at the stunning Kourouta beach, which was the perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Katakolon Port—it was one of the highlights of our cruise. A huge thanks to the Avalon Team for making this experience possible!

Olympia trip - Chris was great! My friend got sick in the middle of the tour and he helped us catch a cab back to the cruise ship and showed genuine concern.

Good split between history and beach time - We did this trip instead of one of the cruise ship excursions. Easy access and location of the group in the port of Olympia. Olympia is really big and it was great to have the tour guide. Going to the beach was a bucket list item....nice place and there were good food options there (which was generally the source for the umbrellas). The beach is not very wide and you cannot easily go out too far. If the beach is a bucket list item this is good because you get that but as well as Olympia. If we had done an all day beach thing in the same location we would have been bored. Tour did Olympia first. Just consider your plan for lunch )which can be the restaurants by the beach).

Great day and experience - The tour to ancient Olympia was interesting. The tour operators had very good guides who took us taking us to Olympia. The archeologist who was our guide from Olympia, however seemed to refer to her notes quite a bit and had trouble coming up with saying what she wanted to express in English. Christoph, met us after the Olympia portion and took our group to Kourouta beach. He was very helpful and got us all back to the port in a timely manner. Overall it was a great day!

Great Guide, Crappy change. - Our guide Chris was extremely professional and knowledgeable, he went out of his way to try and make sure that everyone enjoyed themselves. The fact that the order of the excursion was changed really angered a lot of people. Heading to the beach at 9:30am in the morning when it was 60-65 degrees outside and then going to Olympia in the afternoon when it was 80 degrees was NOT what we signed up for. It should have been done the way it was presented; regardless how busy it may have been at Olympia in the morning. I may not be back.
