DAY TRIP TO ISLAMIC CAIRO
Citadel of Salah El Din - Begin your day at 10:00 am with a pickup from your hotel by our knowledgeable tour guide, who will take you to the Citadel of Salah El Din in Cairo. Here, you will visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque, renowned as one of the most beautiful mosques in Cairo. It is also known as the Alabaster Mosque due to its outer walls being covered in alabaster stone.
Al-Rifa’i Mosque - Next, visit the prominent Al-Rifa’i Mosque, located opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, which dates back to around 1361. This mosque was designed to complement the older structure as part of a 19th-century initiative by Egypt’s rulers to link themselves with the grandeur of earlier Islamic periods and modernize the city.
Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan - Continue to the grand El Sultan Hassan Mosque, also known as Madrasa El Sultan Hassan
, founded by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D. This massive Mamluk-era mosque and madrassa, located near The Citadel in Cairo, was constructed between 757 AH/1356 CE and completed in just three years. At the time, it was notable for its impressive size and innovative architectural features. Commissioned by a sultan with a brief and modest profile, al-Maqrizi noted the mosque’s “wonders of construction,” including schools for all four Sunni schools of thought: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali.
Al-Azhar Mosque - Proceed to Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, also known as the mosque of the most resplendent. Commissioned by Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid Caliphate for the newly established capital city in 970, its name is believed to reference the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah, a revered figure in Islam. It was the first mosque established in Cairo, a city now known as “the City of a Thousand Minarets.”
Conclude your day tour with a visit to El Hussein Mosque in Cairo, a revered mosque believed to be the burial site of the head of the prophet Muhammad’s grandson.
At the end of the tour, our guide will return you to your hotel in Cairo.

It was the tallest structure in North Africa for 21 years until 1982, when it was surpassed by the Nador transmitter in Morocco. It was the tallest structure in Africa for one year until 1962, when it was surpassed by Sentech Tower in South Africa.
One of Cairo’s renowned modern monuments, often considered Egypt’s second most famous landmark after the Pyramids of Giza, it is located in the Gezira district on Gezira Island in the River Nile, near downtown Cairo.
Nile River Valley - Next, you will be transferred to downtown Cairo to board the traditional Egyptian boat known as a Felucca. Enjoy a relaxing ride along the River Nile, where you can experience Cairo’s vibrant nightlife or bask in the warm sun during the day. DAY TOUR TO OLD CAIRO VISIT BEN EZRA SYNAGOGUE
Coptic Cairo - At the requested time, you will be picked up from your hotel by a guide to start your tour of Old Cairo, also known as Coptic Cairo, which means Christian Cairo. This area is recognized as a holy place because some locations were visited by the Holy Family, where their spiritual presence is still strongly felt. Although their stay was brief, as the governor at the time sought to kill the Child due to the idols falling at Jesus’ approach, they found refuge in a cave above which the Church of Abu Serga (St Sergius) was later built. This area, including the Fort of Babylon, is a pilgrimage destination for Egyptians and Christians worldwide, with an atmosphere of piety and devotion.
In Old Cairo, you will visit the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the Hanging Church, and the old Jewish synagogue – Ben Ezra Synagogue.
The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Cairo.
