Adventure in the desert - We had a private 2-day tour with Othmen who was an excellent driver. He picked us up from an exact location in Tunis and drove us all the way to Sahara and back, while visiting most major attractions. I wouldn't recommend though staying overnight in the tent during the winter. It was 0 degrees in the desert and water was absolutely freezing. Having said that, we survived the adventure and made some lovely memories.

FANTASTIC - Don’t listen to the negative review on here. I am a very picky person when it comes to where I spend my money, because I don’t have much, and this trip was worth it. Simba accommodated our budget and sorted great prices for any extra things we needed. We traveled with Othmen, he speaks 5 languages and is an extremely cheery and happy guy. His driving is impeccable, I never like other people driving as I’m a bit of a back seat driver because I don’t trust anyone, but with Othmen I always felt safe, this was very important to me, even when we needed to go faster for time. We initially didn’t want to get the quad ride in the Sahara as our budget was tight, but Simba and his team managed to get us a great deal, and I am very thankful for it because it was one of the most fun activities I’ve ever done! The Sahara is COLD in winter, so be prepared, we wanted to sleep in the tents and the campsite was lovely, comfortable and welcoming, the Berber people that run it are genuine and kind, we felt at home, we ate the most amazing Berber bread I’ve ever tasted! Overall the tour was lovely, the scenery along the way is breathtaking, and Othmen again, was incredible, he helped me haggle with a vendor for a rug even after he admitted he’s terrible at haggling 😂. We talked a lot and got along really well. The Troglodyte homes were welcoming, the people are lovely and have a huge heart opening their homes, please if you visit them leave a nice tip ♥️ The food along the trip is typical Tunisian and is delicious! Highly recommend booking with Simba’s agency for safety and friendliness around Tunisia!

Great Experience! - Everything went perfectly! Our guide Othmen, was an excellent driver and the perfect company for our 2-day tour. From oasis to 4x4 rides and sleeping in the Sahara, it was great. It's an amazing and easy way to get to know almost the entire country. Highly recommend, 10/10!

Perfect, serious - We planned the week with simba, including 2 days in the Sahara desert. No problem with a very good guide. We spent the night in a tent, nice with the typical dinner in the camp. All right! I recommend +++

Not really a tour, but an expensive "driver service" - This should not be called a "tour" since it includes almost nothing. It provides only the car and the driver—everything else must be paid for separately. We had to pay additionally for all food, accommodation, entry fees, activities, etc. The driver was good company and knew great places to visit. Thanks to him it was a lovely experience, but far too expensive for what was included. Unfortunately, this also reflects the broader tourism industry in Tunisia, where, as we and others experienced, tourists are charged exorbitant prices, with constant attempts to extract more money through additional charges.

Nice experience, not good planning - The overall experience was nice and the driver (not really a guide), Rafik, was great. My main complaint is about the planning. We had have a very bad experience with the tour in Tunis and again with this one due to the bad planning by Simba. I had shared that we wanted to have enough time at El Jem coliseum as I am a history buff. We saw that the typical stop there was 1 hr and I requested to be planned for longer. I told them to recommend the right pick up time (we were staying in Sidi Bou Said), and also even told them that we were willing to change our hotel to a closer city (e.g. Sousse), to ensure we could stretch the day knowing that days were shorter in November, and that we also wanted to experience the sunset at the Sahara. Simba said, we could be picked up at Sidi Bou Said, no problem..”everything is possible” ….So we were picked up at 7:30 am (time we had reserved w/o any objections or warnings). Once we got to El Jem, the driver asked us to make sure to be back in 30 min!! otherwise we would not be able to do the rest of the places and activities and catch the Sahara sunset! So, we rushed El Jem coliseum and even having done so, the driver was “flying” to get to the other sites and to make it on time for the Sahara activities…it was somehow uncomfortable to be driven at 160 km/h (although never felt unsafe) but had to swallow it in order to be able to hopefully have the later unique experiences..Most Simba drivers do not seem to be based in Tunis so, that make logistics more complicated (pick up times and longer drives). I think Simba really needs to take the time to read the communications with customers to ensure a much better planning, communication thru WhatsApp is easy but clearly can mess things up, they need to pay more attention to avoid this type of frustrating situations. BTW, we did several extra activities (camel ride & quads in Douz and 4x4 in Ong JemAl/Mos Espa near Tozeur), and all of them were really worth it. Unfortunately, the driver miscalculated the sunrise at Chott El Jerid salt lake and we did not make it on time (early morning for nothing but not a big deal). The stop at Kairouan was also very rushed (only few minutes for pictures from the outside of the Great Mosque which was closed as we got there by 5 pm, no complaints as we were all tired (started the day at 6 am) but something to consider if more time wants to be spent there (something would need to be swapped in the itinerary if so).
