A perfect full day in Luxor! - If you only have one day on site, this excursion is perfect! You have to wake up at dawn to enjoy the hot air balloon ride above the temples! You have to know how to accept that the cloud of children who came that morning, they are forced to pass by to bring a little more home, with their school bag.... You have to endure the stifling heat of the soil of these historic sites. You must politely refuse (or not) to go to yet another overpriced “souvenir” store BUT.... Loxour will mark you with its intense colors, the Valley of Kings will transport you to another time, the balloon flight will allow you to capture some pictures of a very rough peasant life, and the various temples of the city will make you vibrate. So I highly recommend the company, the guide, as well as the driver (of incredible kindness, he even paid for a coffee), we were able to adapt the tour to avoid eating and taking a pleasant time in a local coffee shop, without being rushed back or for me to make my comment right away.... Thank you 🙏 Ps/ I think it’s Ahmed for the guide but the name of the driver, impossible to know....

Really good trip.... - Really good trip. Fascinating to watch the sun rise while a field of hot air balloons were being blown up. The hamper was large and fit 16 passengers (4 per compartment). I got a great panaramic photo when the pilot rotated the balloon. So glad I had a wrist strap on my phone so I could take photos leaning out of the hamper.

A Tour as Beautifully Organized as Egypt - As someone who loves logistics, I was thrilled by how smoothly this tour ran. From the moment we were picked up in a spotless vehicle to the gentle return at sunset, it was flawless. I had low expectations for timing—but we never waited more than a minute. The guide knew exactly how long to spend in each place and tailored everything to our interests. At one point, I tripped on a step, and the staff had a bandage ready in seconds. It was impressive. Perfect for planners and perfectionists!

Scammed by the guide - Mohammad or mo was our tour guide and he scammed us out of 40 dollars. We wanted to see king tuts body and thought it was far away from everything else and he said we had to pay 20 dollars a person to go to it plus the entry ticket of 15 US dollars. We had no idea where it was and thought it would be more work for him so we figured we would pay him the extra 20 per person. When we got in we found out it was where all the other things were and what we were paying for was for him to talk for 40 minutes about the king when we could have read the boards. If you go just say you would like to buy the ticket to see king tuts body but you don’t want to pay him the extra money because he doesn’t have to do anything extra

Mixed. Dr Mo tour guide great but so much improvement can be made to trip - Booked a full day tour with Dr Mo which was very positive. Dr Mo is informative, friendly and very well educated on Egyptian history and will be able to answer all of your questions. Having a very inquisitive son who knows a lot, this is what we required. Lunch was at a place called Ali Baba and the food absolutely terrible. Egypt is very reasonably priced but this meal apart from being dry & slosh was our most expensive meal of our holiday. Purely tourist generated and really should be allowed. From this point after our balloon fiasco & appalling lunch, the day was great!! Although we didn’t see Luxor temple as advertised, we were bothered as full day, early start and you will be sent to shops to purchase things. You’re choice if you go. BALLON FIASCO This could have been handled so much better. I’d read in reviews before I booked & unfortunately this happened to us - Ballon flight cancelled! From what I understand, there are 3flights that take off every morning. Apparently we were booked on the second flight (but I booked the first slot on Tripadvisor being 5am so I still don’t understand why this is not first flight?). If there is an earlier slot, why not advertise this to your customers? When I had to chase pickup time night before (which customer shouldn’t really have to do) was told there was a 4.30 flight & if I wanted to go on earlier flight (I thought that’s what I’d booked but apparently not) it would cost another $40 per person!!! We decline at this point. A while later was then told pickup from hotel 5.40 (but I’d booked 5am? So again confused) but went with it as these guys do this daily and know what they’re doing right??? Wrong!! Our Pickup was now 5.40am and not 5am as I’d booked & it was an old bus. Not as advertised being a boat trip on Nile to cross river. Got to balloon destination which took about 20 mins. The driver was driving VERY slow so should have taken 10 mins & all passengers looking at each other in disbelief ! Flights of ballon’s just taking off which was truly magical. We waited on the side ( you will get constantly harassed by kids and if you give them money they will just swarm in) quite frightening really, we thought we were helping but you’re really not. Watched balloon taking off thinking this will be us soon - we just had to wait for them to finish their trip. 1 hr later after pickup (now 6.40) told flight cancelled and not taking off - all truly gutted. My advice this happens very frequently and get on the first flight to have best certainty you’ll get up in the air. Communication from staff in charge VERY poor, having spoken perfect English from pickup to getting to balloon destination all of a sudden they couldn’t understand you. Complete shambles. We were eventually taken to a restaurant not really understanding what was happening and waited an hour. Tried to get hold of our representative we had been messaging about what was happening & no reply!!! Also wouldn’t take our calls!! Dr Mo then turned up and explained flight cancelled and the 3 flight a day scenario as best he could. From then on day got better. We were lucky, had another day in Luxor and we really wanted to do the Hot Air Balloon. Others in our party didn’t have this luxury as we’re flying home. Dr Mo arranged this and was even our pilot the next morning. We did have to eventually pay extra 😤 but when up in the air it is truly magical. I very rarely leave such long reviews but if this advice helps at all to you, then that’s good. Happy holidays

Not so great - Everything up until the balloon was going perfect. We were picked up at 05:30, by a smiley helpful person and a driver they took us to the boat to cross Nile and off to the balloon ride. Balloon ride was perfect everyone helpful, attentive and friendly. An here we come to the Egyptiologist Mo(hamed) , the most greedy person we met in Egypt. According to the itinerary he was supposed to be with us throughout the tour and ( obviously) talk us through whatever we were visiting, instead he will tell a single story by the entrance and then let us wonder around for a limited time. He was very eager to take us to shops ( which were not part of itinerary like alabaster shop , perfume shop ). And he asked for an extra payment of 40€ ( 10€ per person ) because he escorted us to Tutanhamon tumb and gave us the story of how it was discovered. We paid almost 300£ for the entire tour and I asked the tour operator if we need to pay anything extra , we in advance , which they replied only entrance fees payable by card. Unfortunately his behaviour ruined the entire experience.

Disappointing Experience – Hidden Fees and Poor Communication - Be prepared to be charged extra for everything. Visiting Tutankhamun’s tomb? That’s an unexpected $15 per person — not disclosed upfront — on top of the entrance ticket. The visit itself lasts barely five minutes, yet the guide charged us just to “allow us” inside. The guide spent most of the time speaking with the driver in Arabic, providing minimal to no explanation to the group. Worst of all, the night before the hot air balloon ride, I was told I had to pay an additional $15 per person just to be taken earlier — or my balloon would be canceled with no refund. It felt like a manipulative last-minute upsell. It completely brought the mood down, and we couldn’t enjoy our day in Luxor. Overall, a disappointing and unprofessional experience. I do not recommend this tour.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE - We have booked the ballooning with guided private tour of The Valley of kings. The bus arrived half an hour late at our hotel. The ballooning experience was wonderful, however afterwards our travel experience was appalling. We were brought back to our hotel and NOT to The Valley of kings as booked. The guides in the bus were very unhelpful and rude. We then got in contact with Sainap of Dr Mo tours which after realizing her fault BROKE UP contact. We paid EUR 150 for half of the trip. No coming back of the agency after multiple request for contact by WhatsApp, phone and hotel. Very bad experience. Untrustworthy and cheating.
