The path winds through olive groves, leading to the historic Profitis Ilias Church. This mountaintop church, perched high above, offers stunning views, creating a sense of where heaven meets earth. The journey continues to the old American base, and after a short walk, reaches the small chapel of Saint Donatos, situated at an altitude of 893 meters. The view is spectacular, with the surrounding stone houses “voltoi” and old circular pathways “alonia,” all testifying to the area’s agricultural heritage—alongside the lentil fields and old vineyards. Descend through vineyards, eventually arriving in the stone-paved alleys of the village, visiting the old church.
