The Hairy Coo and Martin - The tour was exceptional. From the organisation of the bus, the cleanliness to the driver, Martin. The attractions were carefully chosen to keep our interest alive, but the real difference was made by Martin, a great guide, not just a great driver. He managed to keep us entertained by giving a Tom of details about each story, all while using the classic Scottish humour, which was absolutely delightful. You could really see this is not just a job for him, but he truly wishes to make a change in everyone’s vacation, not just sell people a ticket. Thank you very much Martin, you are great. And thank you to the company the Hairy Coo for doing business for the sake of love, not just money.

In search of Nessie ! - On 7/4/25 I took the Glasgow to Loch Ness day trip with Haggis tours. The weather was glorious ! Our driver was an enthusiastic and smiling young man named Scott . The overall trip lasted about 12 hours and Scott’s energy throughout was amazing and his knowledge and history entertained us all, Leaving Glasgow we learned of St Mungo and the little “robin” and arriving at Fort Augusta it was St Columba and of course Nessie ! We had plenty breaks to rest and photograph Scotland in all its magnificence and the boat trip on Loch Ness sealed a super adventure and wonderful trip ! Thank you “Haggis Tours” and Scott our driver/guide keep up the good work !

Fraser is seriously the best tour guide! - I had the absolute best day ever on this tour! Fraser was hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. I went on a 12.5-hour tour and packed my AirPods and Nintendo Switch to stay entertained on the bus—but I never used them once. Fraser was incredibly entertaining and funny, and he played some great Scottish music. As if the day couldn’t get any better, he brought along his friend Nati, an amazingly talented Scottish pop star, who brought her guitar and sang for us. I discovered some new music that I now listen to all the time! Someone needs to give Fraser a raise because he absolutely deserves it. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! The Scottish Highlands are breathtaking, and I highly recommend doing the boat cruise on Loch Ness to get the full experience. Just a heads-up: it's a good idea to bring a little cash, in case you want to do the boat cruise or for tipping!

Saw coos and sheep and long bus rides - First this was a very long day. But, it took us around part of the Scottish highlands. We saw small towns, while hearing the history of the area and the locals. Stewart, our driver, is a great storyteller who just got better and better as the trip went on. Ask him to tell you about the history of the kilt. While quite alot of this trip is on the bus, that was also enjoyable. There were time it felt like we were on the Harry Potter Night Bus, due to the close proximity to the other vehicles and the skinny windy roads. It was fun. Stewart is a great driver and I never was concerned. I am not a good road-tripper but I still enjoyed this trip. My favorite stop was the Loch Ness stop. We added the boat ride onto the journey and am so glad we did. It was pretty stormy but the boat was a very smooth ride. Really interesting too. Tips, bring snacks and lunch and water. There are some "comfort" breaks. Coffee shops and food along the way but most of the stops are fairly quick. 10-30 minutes, except the Loch Ness tour stop which was 2 hours give or take. This trip leaves early and returns late with over 400 miles driven. Very long day. But still glad we did it. May be a little too long for small children in my opinion.

Absolute Must-Do Experience! - Absolute experience to do! We traveled far into the Scottish Highlands and up north! Beautiful sceneries and going to different places and stopping for majestic photos are awesome! Definitely I recommend doing this, especially renting a car is too expensive or not a option for you (also if going by private car, get ready for lack of gas stations around up north).. Also forgot to mention our fantastic tour guide and driver! they endured the most of going far for us, worth every quid!

The Highlands are a must see - We had a wonderful time seeing the beauty of the Highlands. We are from North Carolina and have mountains of our own, however, the ones here are magical. We were able to see many different filming places and picture stops. We fed Highland Cattle, learned the history of the area, and did a quick boat tour. The only thing I would mention is that the boat tour was very crowded since it was a full boat. That made it hard to see the views on Loch Ness and it felt very brief. Our tour guide was hilarious and we enjoyed his commentary.

On the fence - Only having a short two days in Edinburgh on this trip, choosing to spend one of them on a day tour like this was a bit of a risk. Unfortunately, it was one that didn’t pay off. The bus’s windshield wiper was damaged after being clipped by another vehicle shortly after the first stop. Because it was raining the situation became unsafe and the bus had to pull into a rest stop in Fort William where we would than have to wait more than 3 hours until a temporary bus came to take us to Loch Ness, where eventually another Hairy Coo bus would come to take us home. Unfortunately, this meant that we would not be able to go on the boat tour around the loch, which was the main selling point for taking the tour in the first place. The tour felt slightly empty without it as we had only made one previous stop to take photos, with the rest of the time spent driving along, hoping to get a decent view of the stuff our driver was pointing out to us. (This was heavily dependent on which side of the bus you were sitting on. We chose wrong. Sit on the left side). We didn’t get the boat tour, we couldn’t explore the abbey and both of the villages we stopped in were extremely cute but most everything was closed as it was either too early or too late in the day. As well as this, the sky was dark by the time we left Loch Ness due to the delay so obviously that meant no more views of anything. On a positive note, the driver (brian) was super friendly and seemed to have a lot of knowledge and passion for his home country. The incident was not his fault and I know that he tried his best to find a solution and give us a good time. I can only imagine how stressful the situation was with a bus full of disgruntled tourists. I know the company worked hard to find a way to fix the unlucky situation, but that doesn’t make it easier to swallow the disappointment of what feels like a wasted day of our trip. Even without the problems we encountered, the tour just wasn’t what i had been expecting and wouldn’t do it again…. even if it included the boat tour. Sorry!
