We’ll tell you how the process starts, how the industry grew, and all about some of the wacky characters and intriguing stories that helped to make the Scottish whisky industry the finest in the world.
Along the way, we’ll sample whiskies from each of the major whisky producing regions in Scotland, whilst exploring a newly uncovered underground area of Edinburgh.

Just off the Royal Mile, behind St Giles Cathedral on Parliament Square, you will find the CodE Pod Hostel just past the statue of James Braidwood the fireman. The meeting point is inside the hostel reception area, we'll head underground from there.

Elkins in Edinburgh 2024 - We thoroughly enjoyed our concierge. He was funny, knowledgeable and entertaining. The whisky was top notch. The group was delightful and we loved the setting.

Highly recommended - I can't recommend this tour enough. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Sarah was very informative and engaging and being in the vaults was an unique experience. We had a great time, learnt a lot and got to try a large variety of whisky which per bottle would be of our usual price range. Definitely get more than your moneys worth with this!

The whiskey was great, our host was even better - We visited the Lost Close in relation to their Whiskey Tasting 101. It is a wonderful experience and our host Nicki was truly charismatic and knowledgeable about scottish whiskey.

Cool experience — high end worth it. - My daughter and I did the high end whisky tasting. Well worth it — fun underground setting, we learned a lot about Scotland’s regions and whisky, and tasted a range of different whisky’s. Sarah was very personable, made us all feel welcome, answered all questions, and gave us some options to choose from based on our preferences. An experience we’ll remember.

Fun Whiskey Tasting!! 100% Worth the Cost - James was great! He’s very funny and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and Whiskey. What I liked most is he tried to gauge beforehand what type of whiskey I liked, and tried to cater the tasting to my liking. Venue and history of the building was very cool as well.

So much fun and informative, too - We had the best time learning about different scotches from various regions of Scotland. Patch was phenomenal and was funny, too. We loved this historical setting and experience. Bonus, we loved interacting with others on the tour. Highly recommend!

Great whisky experience - Sarah led us through some very nice tastings on our experience in the lost close. She was knowledgeable about the whisky’s we tried and made it a fun event for us. We enjoyed some of the private label whisky they had on hand.

Whiskies were very good.... - Whiskies were very good. Location was neat and convenient. The woman who ran the tasting had lots of facts and stories that gave background to the tasting.
