Temple of Philae - The Temple of Philae is an ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the island of Philae in Aswan, Egypt. The temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis and was one of the last ancient Egyptian temples to be built. It was constructed during the Ptolemaic period (305–30 BC) and was used until the Roman period (30 BC–395 AD). The temple complex consists of a main temple, two smaller temples, a birth house, and a kiosk. The main temple is surrounded by a large courtyard and features an impressive entrance gate with two towers. Inside the main temple are numerous chambers, including a sanctuary, an offering hall, and several other rooms. The smaller temples are dedicated to Hathor and Horus-Re. The birth house is where Isis gave birth to Horus, while the kiosk is believed to have been used for rituals involving water.
