Highlights

- Tarabita y Santuario de Cascadas Mindo - Place where we will pass from one side of the high area or Mindo to the font mountain where our hike to the waterfalls will take place. Right in the middle of the cloud forest.
- Mariposas de Mindo - A butterfly sanctuary spot
- Yumbos Chocolate - We will have a short stop if interested on buying a delicious dark chocolate brownie or bars before departure back to Quito

Additional Information
We are departing from the coordinated meeting point at 7:00am to head to the western side of the city. We will have a busy day with some physical exercise and hiking.
Our first stop will be at a beautiful restaurant and hummingbird sanctuary where not only people stop by to eat but also dozens of hummingbirds come to feed. We will enjoy breakfast while watching these little colorful birds fly around.
Our next stop: MINDO! Our main cloud forest city. Once there, we will head straight to the Cable Car (Tarabita) to cross with amazing views of this cloud forest. Once on the other side, we will have a 40-minute hike to the Mindo Nambillo waterfall, where you will be able to swim and refresh from the hiking trail. So bring a bathing suit and towel if interested.
After this, we can choose one alternative option: butterfly sanctuary, chocolate factory, or zipline (tickets not included).
After this, we will start the journey back to Quito.

Excelent - Amazing views on the way to the cloud forest. Breakfast was traditional and delicious while we had the opportunity to watch many different colorful types of hummingbirds. The waterfall trail was enjoyable. The cable car to them was an experience too.

Awesome! - Wow! This hike is amazing and the waterfalls are spectacular. The chocolate tasting is really informative and delicious. And the breakfast and the hummingbirds are spectacular

Great time in Mindo - Wonderful day spent in Mindo and it’s nearby neighborhoods with my husband and two kids ages 8 and 6. Started with an amazing breakfast at a self-sustainable restaurant. Followed by once in a life time experience of feedings the hummingbirds. Mindo was filled beautiful hiking trails that lead to multiple waterfalls. Afterwards we enjoyed a butterfly sanctuary, finishing off with delicious coffee with chocolates at a chocolate factory. Our guide, Jose, was great! He was friendly, easy going, and offered a tour that was mended to our desires and needs with the two kids. We recommend this tour.

Knowledgeable and professional guide - Well-organized experience. Great communication beforehand, and everything went smoothly. Jorge is very knowledgeable and is thoughtful in planning the day (e.g. arranging to visit the butterflies at the time of day that they are most active, choosing times and locations to minimize waiting in traffic). Easy Day Trip Full of Highlights - Great little day trip. Easy pickup, accurate start/end times, beautiful locations with good alternative activities to do. And breakfast was lovely -- both in location and the food.

Superb Mindo - We had so much fun with a very well packed day tour. Traditional breakfast with a waiting room area where to watch many all kinds of colorful hummingbirds. Great coffee at the breakfast spot. The butterfly sanctuary was beautiful, the waterfalls trail was hard but worth it. Flying over the cloud forest with the cable car and also Ziplining were two unforgettable experiences. We highly recommend this experience.

A perfect day! - When planning our trip to Quito, my husband and I knew we wanted to do a few day trips. We stumbled upon this trip and were intrigued by the variety of activities and decided to book… and it did not disappoint! From breakfast with the hummingbirds (who will eat out of your hand), the butterfly sanctuary, the Cable car and waterfall hike with gorgeous views, and zip lining, this tour exceeded our already high expectations. Jose was an exceptional guide- not only was he incredibly personable and easy to talk to, but he also allowed us to customize the optional activities to what we were most interested in. It was also so cool to see a place with such a different climate than Quito- we had such an amazing experience, and we’re so happy we booked.
