Excellent tour north of Quito with Irene! - Irene guided us on a tour of some of the highlights of northern Ecuador with passion and enthusiasm. Her personal touch and Byron’s masterful driving made the tour extra special. We highly recommend any tours with Irene!!!

Great Quito Tour Guide! - Our Quito tour with Daniel was great! His deep knowledge of the city's history, culture, and hidden gems were exceptional. He balanced historical insights with explanations of present-day Quito, often addressing a number of off-topic inquiries from us (modern tech influence, economic factors, global dynamics, ecological processes, etc). His commitment to responsible tourism and community support was exceptional. Highly recommended! Simple notes: Clean spacious SUV car We spoke English and he was fluently bilingual Excellent and informative Daniel was particularly patient with our oddball curiosities

Fun experience!!! - I visited 3 places during this tour. Solar museum, San Pablo lake and Laguna de cuicocha. Tour guide Andrea was very good and explained so many things about Kichwa and even had one of her indigenous friends explain their culture, clothes for us and even sang a song in Kichwa. Solar museum was very informative as it has the actual middle of the world location according to GPS. San Pablo lake was breathtaking and we went close to it and so got some good pics. The other lagoon was amazing as well. Andrea explained everything about it and we went for a short hike around it. We then visited the market in Otavalo and did some shopping and walked around. Had lunch at Cotacachi. Tried the Guinea pig which was an experience. Andrea even gave us a bracelet from the local market as souvenir which was very nice of her. Overall a great tour with a wonderful guide.

Amazing tour, too many stops , we prefer more time in Otavalo and Cotacachi - The tour was great, excellent driver and guide. We prefer having more time at the market(only 1.5 hours) and in Cotacachi (too short).in my opinion , too many stops on the way to Otavalo , just for biscuits tastes and short outlook. I recommend to the organiser to specify the full itinerary (for example - 1 hour pick up, than 2 hours trip to Otavalo, 2.5 hours market etc., Bottom line, we enjoy every minute

Delicious Food and Beautiful Views! - My husband and I had an incredible time on this tour! We started with a smooth hotel pick up and got to spend the day with other fascinating travelers. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke English very well! I loved our stop to try bizcochos and enjoy some coffee and tea. We also got to learn the history of the indigenous culture. At the market, you will find typical Ecuadorian souvenirs. If you are looking to buy, make sure to negóciate the price! After the market, we had a delicious and inexpensive Ecuadorian lunch. Overall, the tour was informative and gave a great view of the country!

Hidden gems in the Ecuadorian highlands - We took a one day trip to see Otavalo valley which is famous for its big market. You can buy colorful traditional ponchos and handcrafts from the Otavalo Market. After the market we went to visit another small town called Cotacachi. The town is known for leather goods, carne colorada and the crater lake - Cuicocha. You can hike around the lake and/or take a boat We enjoyed every place we visited. Our guide Andrea explained the history of those stunning places and took us some scenic view points. Overall the trip was organized very well.

Scheduling Problems Fixed Quickly - Worthy Tour - I signed up for this tour on the Gray Line site directly as I was booking the day before and wanted to avoid 3rd party. I did not receive any email or message confirmation but I took a chance and went to the pick-up point anyway but no tour guide or van arrived. I was unable to call the company with a USA cell phone so emailed them (link on the tour site) and was shocked when I heard back right away explaining their website schedules were problematic right now and offering me a tour the next day March 1. I was so happy and took it. There were only 2 of us plus the guide and driver but the tour was absolutely what I was looking forward - a series of stops and experiences in the communities and area a couple of hours north of Quito. This was something that traveling on my own without speaking Spanish would have been very challenging to execute. Francisco was our guide and was great - enthusiastic and personable and the 3 of us were able to communicate in English (their second language) very well. We left at 7:30 and got back around 5:30 (with traffic). We had lunch at a fantastic restaurant in Cotacatchi. Our driver was awesome as well but I cannot remember his name, unfortunately. Kudos to Gray Line for rectifying my situation so quickly.

Perfect option when you are a limited-in-time-traveller - The Otavalo and Cuicocha trip with Gray Line Tours enabled me to see lots of different places in just one day - a perfect option when you are limited in time - but maybe a bit exhausting when you prefer slow travelling. All in all, it was a great trip for me - also thanks to our tour guide Francisco who did not only share his knowledge with us, but was on top of that an amazing photographer. Gracias por el día!
