Hoi An Ancient Town - Hoi An. This World Heritage-listed town is situated along the Thu Bon River. The ancient town has remained unchanged for centuries and provides a picturesque setting for photography. Historically, Hoi An served as an international trading port for the Champa Kingdom, dealing in wood, gold, and silk. During its peak, Hoi An hosted trade fairs that attracted merchants from Holland, Portugal, Japan, and China. When the river became too shallow, Da Nang was chosen to replace Hoi An as the primary port.
