The moment I stepped out of my hotel, I was greeted by a friendly driver who ushered me into a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle. Upon arrival at the Rockland Estate, I was immediately drawn to the Soualiga Sky Explorer Chairlift. As a former professional surfer, heights and thrills are no strangers to me, but the panoramic views from the chairlift were something else entirely. As we ascended to Sentry Hill, the island unfolded beneath us, revealing breathtaking vistas of neighboring islands like Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts, and Anguilla.

The zip lining experience was exhilarating, offering a rush of adrenaline as I soared through the treetops. The estate also houses a museum that delves into the history of St. Maarten, providing a fascinating glimpse into the island’s past. It was a perfect blend of adventure and education, and I found myself completely immersed in the experience.

After the guided tour, I had two hours of free time to explore at my own pace. I decided to wander through the charming streets of St. Maarten, soaking in the vibrant culture and friendly atmosphere. The island’s laid-back vibe resonated with me, reminding me of why I chose to call the Caribbean home.

As the day came to a close, our private vehicle whisked us back to the hotel, leaving me with a heart full of cherished memories.
