- Zhinvali Reservoir - Our journey begins in Tbilisi after picking up travelers from their accommodations. Our first stop is at Zhinvali Reservoir, where travelers can enjoy a beautiful view. The reservoir is crucial to the local community, serving as a significant water source for the capital city and generating hydroelectric power. It was constructed during the late Soviet era before the collapse.
- Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble - The Ananuri fortification complex is an excellent example of local architecture. It features fortified walls, towers, a hidden escape tunnel, and churches built between the 14th and 17th centuries.
- Gudauri - Although we don’t stop for skiing, we pass by the popular Gudauri ski resort, frequented by both tourists and locals. Located just 1.5 hours from the capital, it’s a great escape from city life. The resort has 14 ski lifts, with the lowest at 1993 meters and the highest at 3276 meters. The first ski lift was built in 1988.
- Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - This monument offers a great vantage point for scenic views. Built in 1983 during the Soviet era, it symbolizes the friendship between the Soviet republics of Georgia and Russia.
- Stepantsminda - We arrive in Stepantsminda, the administrative center of Kazbegi. From here, you can admire the third-highest glacier in Georgia, set against the backdrop of Gergeti Trinity Church.
- Gergeti Trinity Church - One of the tour’s highlights is the Gergeti Trinity Church, built in the 14th century at an elevation of 2170 meters.
- Gveleti Waterfall - This stop is optional and requires prior request as it takes additional effort and time to include in the itinerary. It involves a walk through a stunning gorge to see the Gveleti Waterfalls.
- Dariali Monastery Complex - This stop is also optional and requires prior request. We visit the serene and beautiful Dariali Monastery Complex in Dariali Gorge, getting very close to the Georgia-Russia border, with the Larsi checkpoint visible.
- Pasanauri - On the way back, we stop at a Georgian restaurant to learn more about the local cuisine.
