- Durres Castle - Durrës Castle (Albanian: Kalaja e Durrësit) represents the fortified section of the ancient city of Durrës. The city walls, originally constructed in the late 5th century, were later repaired and strengthened during the Middle Ages and early modern times.
- Durres Amphitheatre - Considered one of the most remarkable examples of ancient architecture in Albania, and possibly the Balkans, the Durres Amphitheatre was constructed in 100 AD by Hadrian and was only unearthed in the 1960s. It was in use for approximately 300 years and could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators.
- Rotonda, Forumi Bizantin - Known as the Byzantine Forum, this historical monument dates back to the 5th-6th centuries. At its center, there is a well and a circular base with several steps. It is part of an extensive complex adorned with marble columns and a floor covered with large marble slabs.
- Town Square - Sheshi Liria - Plac - Be captivated by the architecture and open space of Freedom Square, the city’s main square. Following this, a stroll through the Mercantile Road, one of the city’s most significant areas, is a must. Walking along the seaside has become a cherished tradition. The area features 2 or 3-story buildings, constructed in the early 20th century.
- Durres Castle - Once considered one of the most formidable defense structures along the Adriatic Sea’s western coast, the current fortress has its origins in the initial construction by Byzantine Emperor Anastasius I (491–518), a native of Durrës (ancient Dyrrhachium). Built atop the remnants of the Byzantine tower around the 15th century, the Venetian Tower was fortified with cannons to defend the city from the sea. Specifically designed for artillery, it served as a vital observation point for monitoring the surrounding area. In 2022-2023, the Venetian Tower was renovated and transformed into Albania’s first Heritage Interpretation Center, offering visitors the opportunity to explore historical events and locations through advanced digital and multimedia tools. These include VR headsets, audio guides, dome multimedia projections, and other activities, blending entertainment with a deeper understanding of the city’s ancient history.
