Itinerary
Day1:
• picked up at 5:30pm in air conditioned vehicle
• +- 3 hour drive to the Drakensberg with refreshment stop
• arrive at destination
• gear allocation, packing of bags and hike briefing
• begin hike at roughly 10am
• stops at appropriate times for snacks and lunch
• arrive at cave mid afternoon

• break camp and head back to vehicle

• arrive at vehicle
• showers available and a chance to get into a fresh pair of clothes
• head back to Durban
• Stop for refreshments (your own account)
• Drop off at your accomodation

Leave no Trace Policy:
• All rubbish will be carried out with us
• When you go the toilet you need to dig a deep hole far away from our cave and far away from any paths or water sources.
• No fires…we only cook on gas
• no littering!
• No shortcuts, we try and use the provided paths as best as possible
• No picking of our flowers or any flora
• We always keep a respectful distance between any animals we may encounter
• We keep our noise to a minimum. No music..only natures tunes.
• No use of any soap in the rivers(even biodegradable). It’s only 2 days you will be fine!
• No touching of rock art in any way!

Experience a night in a cave amidst the untamed nature of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal. Embark on an overnight walk across the untouched landscapes of the ‘little berg’, open to anyone with basic fitness. Responsibilities include carrying your own equipment and participating in camping activities like cooking and tidying up. The walk approximately covers 12km each day, with a firm policy of carrying in and carrying out all we bring. Our approach is minimal impact, leaving the environment as we found it. This trek promotes a close encounter with the wild and the camaraderie with fellow hikers over any formal tour-like experience.
