Our friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced river guides will ensure you are equipped with a life jacket, helmet, and any other necessary river attire (such as wetsuits when the weather or water is cooler).
We’ll then transport you to the river for a brief safety orientation before embarking on a scenic hour-long journey down the Animas River.
You’ll enjoy splashing through numerous refreshing Class II rapids and one thrilling Class III rapid as you paddle downstream.
Class II rapids offer “fun and friendly” splashes for those at the front of the boat, while Class III rapids provide “wet and fun” experiences, soaking everyone from head to toe.
Spring trips typically feature higher flows with bigger splashes, whereas summer trips have lower flows with gentler splashes. If you’re rafting later in the season, you’ll enjoy additional excitement as we maneuver between the river rocks!
After an hour of excitement, we’ll disembark, load the boats, and shuttle you back to our Durango Office.
