Happy customer - My tour in Dunedin today to Larnach Castle was great. Our tour guide Jason was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to show us the best things around Dunedin.

Awesome trip to Larnach Castle with Headfirst Travel - My partner and I attended the 2pm trip to Larnach Castle. The trip ended up being just us two which we didn’t mind at all. We had a lovely driver, who was very knowledgeable about Dunedin and it’s surrounding areas. We made a few stops - not planned on the trip which included a lookout point on the way to the castle, Baldwin St and St. Clairs Beach on the way back which we were very pleaseD with as it ticked off our list. Our tour at the castle was awesome, well paced and our guide/driver was awesome. We really enjoyed this tour and Larnach Castle is amazing!

Lovely garden and views - The tour was very good. We had no trouble finding the bus and the people operating it were pleasant and organized. The "castle" itself is not a castle but a large house built in the 19th century. The tour and family history was interesting but what makes this tour worthwhile are the gardens and spectacular views. (The best picture I took from two weeks in New Zealand was from the Larnach Castle gardens.) We were in Dunedin with a cruise ship and this was an easy and much more economical way to see Larnach castle than with the cruise ship tour. There are shuttles at the cruise port that drop you off in the octagon just a short walk from the visitor center where the tour bus boards.

Pricey but a good morning out - Very pricey but when I see what it must cost to maintain that money pitt then I can kind of see why I guess? Filled in the morning so happy about that

Such a disappointment. - We arrived on time for our tour—actually, a little early—with our family, only to find that no one showed up. We tried to contact the tour operator, but the number listed no longer exists. Staff at the i-SITE in Dunedin informed us that the company closed four years ago, yet the tour is still bookable on Viator’s website. They’re aware of the issue, but nothing has been done to fix it. This was incredibly frustrating and a waste of our time.

THIS TOUR IS NO LONGER OPERATING, DO NOT BOOK IT!! - TripAdvisor, you NEED to remove this tour the operator has not operated in years. We too booked this tour yesterday only to be left waiting, to then discover this tour no longer exists. What a waste of a morning. Come on TripAdvisor, get organised. REMOVE THIS TOUR!!

Company doesn’t exist anymore. Do not book this tour. - We booked this tour as something cute to do while we were in Dunedin. Unfortunately the company does not exist anymore but we had no idea. Multiple other people had also booked the tour and showed up on the day only for the tour guide to never show up. The only reason we knew the company doesn’t exist anymore is because a very kind woman who worked at the Dunedin Information Centre happened to let us know! Otherwise we would have been standing around waiting for ages.

This tour no longer exists. I was left waiting. Apparently the tourist office has informed Viator and they keep taking people' - Awful. This tour stopped 2 years ago. Stop taking money for a non-existant tour. I keep trying to tell Trip Advisor / Viator. No results.

Don't book this trip - Don't use this trip. The driver never turned up and i-site told us the company had gone into liquidation a couple of years ago. We joined with others also on the same trip through Trip Advisor and found our own way to the castle. There are other providers so use them. I have asked for a refund from Trip Advisor which is being processed.

Very Angry Customers - Never got to Dunedin for the tour by cruise as weather worsened considerably and the Captain of Ovation of the Seas changed destination for all our safety. Tried to contact yourselves and the tour company via email that day but nobody bothered to get back to me. In summary, we never got there - circumstances were out of our control. Lost our money as we were ignored. Would never recommend Viator or that tour company again.
