In the Old town, we are going to visit 4 family-run places. In between, we are going to learn about the history of Dubrovnik and the historical-cultural context of food and wine on the tour.

Terrific - Great guy - knowledgeable and interesting. One of those people who hasn’t been captured and instead shares his wisdom with great skill and bonhomie. All his recommendations for pairings worked. Everyone talked about the experience afterwards.

Delicious, fun, informative! - A carefully planned and insightful tour. Dom is amazing - knows a lot about the history of Croatia / Dubrovnik but is also a PhD student focusing on two varietals of Croatian wine and is a certified olive oil taster. Dom kicked off with a brief history of Croatia and Dubrovnik before we moved to the food and wine. We covered two distinct styles of restaurants (extremely old school and modern) and the four biggest Croatian grape varietals - with detailed info on the history of each wine. Third restaurant was the olive oil tasting and dessert. This was the perfect activity for the start of my Croatia time as I feel better equipped to pick out wine for the remainder. The tour’s shout out as the best food and wine tour in the city in the lonely planet 2024 special issue on Croatia is well deserved !

5-star Dubrovnik food & wine tour! - We took the DeliciousDubrovnik food & wine tour in October 2023. It was an absolutely delightful experience learning all about local Croatian cousine while walking the old city from restaurant to restaurant for tastings and drinking. The tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and so personable. This is a great tour to take if you’re in Dubrovnik.

Great evening and a full education - I took the food and wine tour with Dom in November 2023. I was really excited to get to hear about the local food and wine scene from someone with his passion for not only the biology, but also the history, of the of the food products of the region. When traveling to an over- touristed destination like Dubrovnik, I expected it to be a challenge to find truly amazing food because so many restaurants could just just taking advantage of cruise ship passengers they will never see again. I knew I would need an expert to guide me through Dubrovnik food and wine or else I would end up eating microwaved food like we did in Venice. Dom is born and raised in Dubrovnik and he knows which restaurants deserve the patronage, and more importantly....which restaurants have the wine lists he wants to show off. During the tour, we talked about: - the history of Dubrovnik and how it survived multiple empires as an independent city state - how olive oil is made in the region - how to tell GOOD olive oil (hint: it is not colour !) - the olive oil industry and how Croatia ranks in it - the wines of Croatia and the biology of the grapes - how specific wine varietals that pop up around Europe reflect trade routes from Dubrovnik - the history of the food of Europe and Dubrovnik in particular We visited two restaurants - Dalmatino and Kapon - and Dom arranged for guests of the tour to try two dishes and two wines at each location. The food and wine were OUTSTANDING. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the dishes that the restaurants prepared and the choices Dom made in both food and wine. At the end we stopped by a gelato shop and Dom proved that olive oil is fantastic with good quality chocolate ice cream as the last course. I have only two regrets about this tour: first, that now I have tried some amazing wines that I will never find in the US, and second, I wish I had actually done this tour my first night in Dubrovnik so that I would have been able to go back to those restaurants and try more dishes and wines! Dalmatino especially has a fantastic by the glass wine list due to their investment in a preservation technology. I found this tour not only a great way to get to know the food and wine of the Croatian coast, but also to get to know Dubrovnik. Best of all, Dom does bring different knowledge to each tour, customizing to the individuals present so that it is more of a conversation than a one-sided info dump. His knowledge is deep as well as broad, and with his engaging style, it is a very worthwhile experience.

A unique experience with an undeniable expert - My wife and I are fond of doing 'food tours' on our holidays. It's a good way to find local gems and solid eating recommendations. This wine, food, and olive oil based tour was truly a unique one. 'Dom' is unquestionably an expert on these topics. He devised this tour himself, and his passion for the topic is infectious. I had no idea how satisfying it could be to understand the historical context of food and wine pairings. He also followed up with a really good message detailing out the things we had experienced and giving all of his local recommendations for the rest of our holidays. We've been using the tools he gave us for choosing wine and food since then and have discovered some gorgeous examples of both. Absolute must do for any foodie or wine enthusiast trying to navigate the local offerings!

Don’t miss out on a unique experience - Highly recommend for an experience that will open your eyes to Croatian and Dubrovnik history, wine, food, and olive oil. Dom is a treasure trove of wine and olive oil knowledge. He picks three amazing places to take you to experience it all. The food was unbelievable and the wine and olive oil was magical. I would recommend doing this on your first night in Dubrovnik as Dom also shares excellent recommendations to eat and drink. This is the tour to go for a unique experience without the typical cheese and meat platters you’ll see elsewhere.
