Montenegro surprise - , early start to avoid border queue. Perash was beautiful and Kotor fabulous. Interesting mountain backdrop with Italian style layout of the town. Good guide and our driver was careful .Recommended

Learning from Locals Who Care! - The greatest aspect of Amico Tours is their staff. The guides truly care about their work and make sure the guests are fully immersed in the tour given the compact nature of it. Matina (bilingual English and Spanish) was outstanding! Moving easily between the two (and even more) languages was flawless and left everyone learning a tremendous amount about the region. Our driver, Branko, made sure our journey was safe and comfortable. To be sure, July is a very hot month in this region, however, the Matina was careful to point out the necessary places for shade, air-conditioning, and where to get drinks. Overall, the energy, dedication, and sheer love of sharing their culture were apparent from the start, if you are at all interested in immersing yourself in these aspects over the course of a 10-hour tour, while visiting some resplendent areas, this is the one for you!

Great tour. Highly recommend it! - Organized day trips may not be for everyone. With these tours, the schedule is already set. This limits what you can see and do and in what order. Almost always there won't be sufficient time on each stop. If you know and accept this limitation, then this is a great option to see Montenegro. Let someone else worry about the driving and navigate the border crossings, and you just relax and enjoy the ride! This tour is well organized and very professionally run. We chose it mainly because of the small group size and having a central pickup location. These features minimized wait time and made the trip more enjoyable. The 6:10am start was very early by our standard. The mini bus was clean and comfortable. We didn't have a separate guide and a driver. Instead, the driver was doing dual duties. I forgot his name. But he was humorous, informative and provided us a lot of description and historical background on the sites. We had a 10 min toilet break at a gas station right after we crossed into Montenegro. We were able to grab some breakfast, get coffee and water there. This is about an hour after we depart Dubrovnik. Our order was a bit different than the itinerary description on the website. We first went to Our Lady of the Rocks, then spent time in Perast before going to Kotor Old City. I actually like this arrangement better since it offers opportunity for breakfast in Perast in a beautiful setting. Kotor Old City was a beautiful walled city with a dramatic mountain backprop. We had a local guide who provided us with a half-hour tour at the start. She was very good. For people planning to climb the walls, I would suggest you skip the Kotor local tour and head to the walls as soon as you get off the bus. Otherwise, there may not be enough time for it. But if you do the walls, you likely wouldn’t have time to enjoy the sights and sounds of Kotor! It was a long day. Though we thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't forget to bring your passport!

Enjoyable tour and history of montenegro - Great day all round. Friendly and informative tour guide and driver. Early start meant border crossing to Montenegro was quick. Loved Kotor and the guide there was passionate and adored the kittens. Boat trip to Lady in the rocks is definitely worth the 10 euros as there is not much to do in Perest. Went in a small group of 6 which worked well.

Definitely do it! - Very nice and long boat tour! The skipper and the German-speaking tour guide really take their time and explain everything in detail! Slow trip around the islands so that everyone can see and photograph everything! Long stop for swimming! It was really worth it!

Perfect way to see Montenegro - This tour is by far the best way to see Montenegro in a day. Starting early, you beat the crowds, especially at the border post. Amico are very professional, and the tour was superb. The driver and tour guide were both customer service orientated and knowledgable. The guide explained everyhing well and her passion enhanced the day. We visited Kotor and were given freetime there to do our own thing, which we appreciated. Then on to Perast, a quaint little village. All in all, a very enjoyable day, and a tour that I highly recommend

Exceptional tour and tour operator. - Amico Tours were wonderful. The tour started early and avoided congestion at the border crossings and the large bus crowds at the stop offs. The tour guide was personable, humorous, knowledgeable, and resourceful. Thoroughly enjoyable experience exploring a beautiful part of the country and a great option to escape the heat and daytime crowds in Dubrovnik Old City. The small minibus was modern and comfortable, albeit a little cramped for my large frame.

Stunning! - This was a very long day but it was lovely and worth it! We started with an early morning meet up time - I was 5 mins late so apologies to others that were in my group! We met at 620am to beat the traffic at the boarder crossing and for good reason! Just around the boarder they stopped briefly for a coffee and bathroom break. The guide and the drive were lovely and informative. We made our way to our first stop at Perast and Lady of the Lake. I am a breakfast eater so I skipped the boat ride and found a lovely spot for a breakfast buffet, coffee, and morning champagne. The scenery is absolutely remarkable and gave Lake Como vibes. I could have stayed here all day. Our second stop was at the Old City in Kotor. The landscape and architecture is remarkable and fairytale-esq. we had a local guide take us on a brief walking tour and she was perfect - even showed us where her grandparents live and talked of their rich culture. The city itself was filled with tourists - too many. And the shops were surprisingly filled with fake designer goods. I’m so glad I went on this trip. The group was small thankfully and the van spacious and comfortable. It was a great way to spend the day!

Our guide Gabriel was... - Our guide Gabriel was wonderful. Unfortunately the day was very hot and it prevented us from exploring Kotor more. Our Lady of the Rock was lovely. The wait at the border was over two hours and we had an issue with the bus driver (waited over half and hour on our way there).

A long, tortuous day - What I’ll remember: - the tour guide who shared the negative stereotypes of people on the region (Montenegro is lazy, Albanians are criminals, etc.) - being dropped off in the wind and rain on Parast while a few people in our group took a boat ride to the church. We were told to walk around and have lunch. However, we had just had a 2-hour lunch break; it was miserable outside; and no restaurants would serve us because we were with a tour group and they cater to hotel visitors. Also, there was one public restroom in the whole area and it was disgusting. - We were unexpectedly dropped off far from our starting point, in the rain, for some lame reason that didn’t make sense. - The tour operator and driver were not attuned to the needs of passengers. We had to ask for air conditions and lights. - For some reason, the tour group got crammed into one bus and the other bus was sent home. It was hot, crowded and wet on that bus. Older people were forced to sit in uncomfortable seats with the wheel well. One passenger even had to sit up front with the driver. Just a miserable experience.
