A EPIC Day in Dublin - It has to be the most wonderful interactive museum I’ve been to. I will definitely recommend EPIC to friends and family. And lastly, I didn’t know about the Atlanta Coke connection

A worthwhile visit covering the worldwide impact of the Irish - We enjoyed our 2 hour visit, particularly the first few sections covering Irish history and its impact on emigration. The gift show was first rate as well. One caution: Google Maps had us turn in where there was no parking. Best nearby car park was about a block away at Q Park.

April 2026 visit; 2 adults no kids. - We spent about 4 and a half hours in the museum. There is a lot to see and do. You can just do the cursory visit maybe in 90 minutes, but there are some excellent presentations and videos which add a lot of value. The history of Ireland is fairly grim in places, with the mass emigrations throughout the year, but stick with it because the more recent positives come out towards the end. I did not feel like time was dragging at all. The passport stamping is fun. Even as a 60 year old I found myself queuing up to get my visitors passport stamped. A good visit.

The hustory of the plight... - The hustory of the plight of the Irish was presented in such a way that it appeared to come to life.A sophisticated yet fun way to incite kids to want to explore the museum in its interactive portrayal;the museum guides were helpful and very polite and friendly.

Excellent family experience - Excellent day out with the family. The exhibition genuinely appeals to all ages. Everyone in our group of 10 aged from 4 to 73 years old loved it. Beautiful architecture, very well designed layout, fascinating history, state of the art technology. Lots of interactive engagement. A big bonus was the offer to return free of charge within 10 days. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great interactive museum! - Wonderful exhibit with interactive rooms, videos, and presentations telling the story of Irish Emigration. Very moving but also inspiring. This is a must visit if you are going to Dublin and have any ancestors who might have left the island.

Very Disappointing - Was in Dublin on business, had a few hours to spare so decided to visit this museum, thinking - from its name - that it would give insights into Irish emigration, the whys and hows and perhaps even real reflection on the experience of being an emigrant -- the feelings of dispossession and ‘not belonging anywhere’ that is often the lot of an emigrant. It doesn’t. It’s a fairly superficial – at times almost trite – whizz bang tour of stereotypical ‘Irishness’ , all mashed up incoherently under vague ‘themes’ . I mean, I get that these days people like ‘entertainment’ , and things to keep the kids occupied ( lots of random buttons to press etc. ) But the content was vapid, and so decontextualised that at times it was almost historically illiterate. The ‘get your passport stamped’ concept was an ok idea and the gallery with a kind of Light installation( where your own footsteps cause ripples) was initially fun. But very quickly the sheer triviality of content ( or lack-of-content) palled. The ‘story-telling’ section was particularly pathetic, almost a random smattering of names and film clips of a handful of Irish writers, without any context to the clips or their experiences of being being emigrants, having their books banned etc ( “Ireland is the old sow that eats her farrow” could have been a quote from one of them relevant to that context.) It also almost totally ignored the existence of Northern Ireland ( How can you do even a superficial roll-call of Irish writers without a passing mention of Seamus Heaney, for example?) While spending time making a big deal of Terry Wogan (really. ) So if you want an expensive place to go to shelter from the rain which will give the kids a half-hour of running-around-and pushing-buttons-entertainment, fine. Just don’t expect a genuinely educational or informative experience. As an actual real-life-Irish person who was obliged to emigrate in youth and live abroad, I found it very disappointing in its shallowness.
