Better late than never... - Went on my first ever solo trip to Ireland back in January of this year after spending the year previous doing research on the Gifford sisters and found out about this tour from a YouTube video. The tour was amazing and Tom was a wonderful tour guide who brought the events of 1916 to life with his passionate retelling. A must do if you're in Dublin. Do not skip this tour!

A Dublin must - An absolute must when in Dublin, this tour will teach you a detailed history of the times before during and after the 1916 Easter rising. Thomas the tour guide on this occasion was fantastic, a very in depth, detailed and knowledgeable chap who clearly shared a passion which for me as someone who is hugely interested in this element of history was great to see.

Great way to engage with Dublin and Irish history - We joined the tour with Tom McGuire at 1 pm on a Sunday. My husband and I had some prior knowledge of the history of the Easter Rising and although my daughter and her partner did not, we all found it really interesting. Tom really brought the political and social history of Ireland to life, set within the context of Dublin and its buildings/geography. The tour lasts about two hours and moves at a steady pace around the main sites. Tom was very knowledgeable and happy to respond to ad hoc questions. It was interesting, thought provoking and good value.

Knowledgable and enthusiastic tour guides - don’t miss this! - We arranged for a private tour with Tom (we were unable fit the group tour times into our schedule) - the communication to arrange the tour was easy and the meeting place was central. Tom adjusted the tour to our needs, and it was very conversational. He brought us past notable places that might have been missed if we were on our own, and gave context to other parts of history that were important, allowing us to see the bigger picture. He made the stories come alive with his passion for the subject. A must do!

History with HEART - Donal gave our tour with heart, detail, and humor. Not just educational, it was moving! He told the history as a human experience, not just a distant idea. Of course, hearing the stories in many of the places they happened added to the reality of it all. HIGHLY recommend!
