The Truth - Read a few books about Ireland after my dad (a Welshman) had told us that you don't know Ireland until you've met the Irish at home. Blown away by the depth and breadth, and balance, and sound reason of this walking talk. The preparation talk in the cellar first, is so important to set the context. Also the songs! Saddened by the loss of so many progressive leaders - that had consequences decades later in the 60-90s, for both countries. Seriously as a mixed race (Scots/Welsh/Yorkshire/Scandic), it opened my eyes - if you want to understand the English go visit a place that was occupied by them for centuries and listen to the peoples' stories. The facts. Told in a quiet careful way. I've studied history to postgraduate level and this talk is up there. It should be a regular feature on any 18th-20th century school to university course. Also the guide was very patient with the group. And nobody got left behind on a busy Thursday in Dublin. Cannot recommend this talk highly enough - to anybody of any creed or persuasion. So balanced and sensitively given. Thank you. I learnt so much.

In order to understand the soul of the city and country... - Such an enjoyable and informative tour, thanks a million for our guide Feilim. It was full of craic, apart from the bitter historical facts, of course. Anyone who doesn't visit Dublin just for the sake of tourism but want to feel its soul (or indeed, broader Irish soul) should definitely consider taking this tour.

Excellent Tour - We had a tour this morning with Lorcan, and could not recommend any more. The knowledge and experience is apparent immediately and he answered every question that was asked of him by our group. He managed to involve the group with relevant examples, stories or historic figures from the country of people in the group ie Scotland, Canada, America, Finland. Lorcan was passionate about this topic, and I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Dublin whether you have no knowledge of the topic or not. You will learn something on this tour. I will be buying Lorcans book to learn more.

Passionate, exciting walking tour of 1916. Loved it - Brilliant tour, the tour guide on Tuesday 5th August 2025 was so interesting, passionate and was able to pitch it to our two sons aged 9 and 12. She made it so interesting and inspired to me read more on the 1916 rising, and I'm not even a reader! She was amazing, so easy to listen to aswell.

Excellent tour for getting a feel for what it was like before, during and after the rebellion - The tourguide is an excellent storyteller who really takes you back to history. Even if you know something about this history already you will learn new stuff from this tour, besides, standing on the actual sites where it went down makes it special.
