A great self-guided walking tour! A wonderful alternative if you can’t do the guided tour. Or do both! - We tried taking a tour-guided ghost tour, but not enough people showed up so we couldn’t go. Timing did not allow us to try another day. Found this tour online and downloaded it. Took this tour with my son. He’s 15. It was great! One stop, though, said that we were standing in front of an art gallery, but it’s not an art gallery anymore. Not a big deal, building was still there. Another issue we had was walking too fast, and twice the next spot started playing before finishing the previous one. Glad there is an integrated map so we could see when the next stop was coming up. My son found it scarier than I did, but overall, well done and enjoyed it! Music/sound effects were great and the narration was perfect. Haven’t looked yet, but hope there are more walking ghost tours like this one to experience!

Great substitute for a personally lead walking tour! - My partner and I recently completed the Drumheller Ghost Walk tour through Tripvia and while the tour was overall a great success there were some drawbacks. Two of the stops were off by about a block - Stops 10 and 11 should have been one more block west to be in the correct location. Also - stop 11 which was the Valley Doll Museum needs to be updated as that museum is now permanently closed and there is no sign or anything that it used to be there. The second criticism I had is that as the route takes you from stop 17 to 18 it has you crossing a very busy street (2nd street W) without a crosswalk, lights, or indeed even at a proper intersection! It was 4 lanes of relatively heavy traffic and it did not seem a safe street to be jay-walking across. Other than that I thought the tour was well thought out, a good length, nicely paced and the stories were interesting and a bit cheesy which I liked.  As far as the app itself, my only complaint is that on the mobile app there is no 'search' function so when it loads to the home screen you have to click through to tours ->  Canada -> Alberta -> Walking tours -> and then scroll down to find the one we used. This was quite tedious. Other than that I felt the app was very user friendly and it was clear a lot of time and effort went into its design. I particularly like the orientation section at the beginning of the tour which I imagine for older and/or less technologically savvy users would be very helpful! The flexibility of being able to do the tour on our own schedule/timeline was also quite nice. We stopped for a bubble tea and to cool down inside about halfway through which we wouldn't have been able to do if we were in a group!
