Cider, known as sagardo in Basque, meaning apple wine, is one of the most traditional and enduring Basque beverages. The enchanting process of its production, which has been carried out in traditional Basque homesteads for centuries, can still be experienced in cider houses (Sagardotegis in Basque). Here, visitors can enjoy the classic cider house menu and take a guided tour of the apple orchards and various production areas to uncover the secrets behind this drink’s creation.
