Be captivated by the delightful 10th-century hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, and ascend its 241 steps to reach the summit and take in the breathtaking views. Once you’ve caught your breath from the challenging climb, proceed to Bilbao, the financial hub of the Basque Country, and admire the city’s architectural and cultural marvels, including the renowned Guggenheim Museum.

- We strongly recommend to bring sport shoes and a spare Tshirt in case you want to climb the stairs all the way to the top of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe hermitage.
- A minimum of 2 adults per booking is required. If the minimum group for carrying out the activity would not be reached, an alternative date or full refund would be offered. If your booking was below this number we will contact you at least 2 days in advance to inform you in case the minimum group size was not covered by this stage. Fun day! - We greatly enjoyed the day. Iker was very informative and receptive to what the group wanted to do. The lunch was fun and gave us the opportunity to taste new foods. The only drawback to the day was that the bus had no vents in the back so it was warm.

Book it! - We couldn’t have asked for a better tour. The views, the lunch, the Guggenheim, our guide Albi….10/10. The hike out to the cathedral is extremely steep and somewhat difficult, wear appropriate shoes and be prepared. But it’s so worth it!

Fantastic tour. Would recommend - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! The selection of activities was spot on for a day trip, showcasing the best of what's nearby to San Sebastián. The small group size was perfect - intimate enough to get to know each other, yet diverse enough to meet new people.
Our tour guide, Iker, was exceptional. He was incredibly accommodating, tailoring the day to the group's needs and preferences. His knowledge shone during the walking tour, providing valuable insights and anecdotes.
But what really made our experience stand out was Iker's generosity beyond the tour itself. He shared his insider knowledge of the best pintxos spots in San Sebastián, and to top it off, he even shared the recipe for the famous cheesecake! It was a lovely touch that showed his passion for the city and its food.
We'd highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the Basque region with a knowledgeable, flexible, and generous guide like Iker.

Magical tour of Gaztelugatze and Balboa - Ana and Paul were excellent guides. They spoke very good English, drove safely, and took great care of us. They know a lot about the stops on our tour, and showed us a lot of extras! Gatztelugatxe would be very hard to navigate without help.

Wonderful Day Trip from San Sebastián to Bilbao - Victor, our local expert guide is very friendly and helpful. He is also very knowledgeable, explaining about the history and culture of the Basque Country. As there was only our family in this tour, Victor added a few more interesting locations on the way back to San Sebastián ~ Zumaia Flysch and Getaria via the coastal route, and the view was breathtaking! Victor also helped us take a lot of nice pictures at those locations. He really made our trip very much enjoyable. Will definitely recommend this trip especially Victor.

Day Trip to Bilbao from San Sebastián - Such an amazing day trip from San Sebastián to Bilbao! We (family of three) were the only ones in the group tour, and our local guide, Victor is really nice and friendly, he tailor made the tour to suit our preferences! In the end he added in a few more interesting locations via the coastal route on the way back to San Sebastián, and the views are absolutely breathtaking! Especially the Zumaia Flysch ~ we had the chance to walk on the beach to see those rocks up close!
Our family would highly recommend taking this day trip for those first time visitors to the Basque Country and you won’t be disappointed! Victor is an experienced tour guide and very knowledgeable on the history of the Basque Country! He explained to us so clearly about this region, their culture as well as local produce! We thanked him for making our trip so memorable!

Wonderful!! - I had an incredible experience on this tour! Our guide, Javier, was fantastic—very friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, which added so much depth to the tour. It was the perfect way to explore areas beyond San Sebastián, with a wonderful mix of nature, city sights, and museums. Each stop offered something unique, and the whole tour felt well-rounded and thoughtfully planned. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a diverse and immersive experience!

Best Short Visit to Bilbao - History, Cuisine and Culture - The journey to Bilbao from San Sebastián was a great way to learn about the Basque regional independence, the geography and use of the land, and the history of the coastal areas. Alby was incredibly accommodating and supportive for the small group we had, which quickly became like a group of old friends. The access to a car to get us to the museum, the busy old town, and escaping from the rain was the best way to explore this exciting city. Thank you!

A fantastic day trip - The entire day was fantastic and the stop at Gaztelugatxe was filled with incredible views and extra exciting if you're a game of thrones fan. The Guggenheim also didn't disappoint. Our guide Alby was great throughout the whole trip answering questions about the area. 10/10 recommend.
Note: the hike at Gaztelugatxe can be difficult if you want to go all the way to the top but you have an option to stop short if you want.
