Visit the 600-year-old palace, Forbidden City-The Palace Museum. Forbidden City is the largest Imperial Palace in the world and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was the Royal Palace for 24 emperors from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Explore the Hall of Great Supremacy (Taihe Dian), Hall of Middle Harmony (Zhonghe Dian), Hall of Preserving Harmony (Baohedian), Palace of Heavenly Purity, Chuxiu Palace, Turret of The Palace Museum, The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum, and Meridian Gate (Wumen). Please watch the movie “The Last Emperor” before your trip to Beijing. You will spend about 2 hours here. Listen to countless old stories from your tour guide and get to know the Palace at your own pace.

  • Hall of Great Harmony (Taihe Dian) - The largest hall within the Forbidden City. Stunning wooden architecture. Take a glimpse at the emperor’s throne. This was the royal political place where 24 emperors gave their presentations to officials in Chinese history.

  • Hall of Preserving Harmony (Baohedian) - Visit the Hall of Preserving Harmony. It is the second largest hall of the Forbidden City. The ancient national royal exams took place here, as well as banquets for the royal family. Then, visit the most stunning clock museum that exhibits precious pieces from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You can make a stop at the noodle bar here if you need a coffee break (at your own expense).

  • Palace of Heavenly Purity - Continue your stroll in the Forbidden City. It served as the emperor’s sleeping chamber and later became an office in the back court of the Forbidden City.

  • The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum - Finally, visit the Imperial Garden in the Forbidden City. In the spring, it is a beautiful garden with blooming peonies, pine trees, pagodas, and natural limestone sculptures.

  • Jingshan Park (Jingshan Gongyuan) - Lastly, hike up Jingshan Park to see the breathtaking views of the Forbidden City and Beijing. At the end of the tour, your tour guide will bring you back to your lovely hotel, or you can choose to stay in this neighborhood.
