A good time! - Super fun ! Eating the live octopus was so crazy ! It was nice as a solo traveler to be social and have an authentic experience!

A hidden gem - This experience is a hidden gem. We are no stranger to Korean food having grown up in LA and NY, and had already been in Seoul for a few days and had our tastes of tteokbokki, naengmyeon, mandu, pork gukbap, yangyeom gejang, bibimbap, soju, makgeolli, and many rolls of kimbap; however, we don't know the language and were hopeful to try some new eats while visiting Seoul. Mike is super chill, friendly with the local aunties, and an informed foodie. He took us around to a lot of front-facing establishments, but also many that were in the back allies that foreigners would never find or even know it is a restaurant. The evening is also well paced with some alcohol mixed in and a variety of different bites pending on the group interests, as well as bits of history of the area, markets, and the people. He is a rare breed that has lived fluidly in both Korea as well as the US and can navigate both cultures seamlessly for a comfortable yet authentic experience. Mike was also helpful for extra recs post-tour that supplied the rest of our trip in Seoul. Definitely a unique and local experience.

Don’t sleep on this - Mike is super knowledgeable about the market and food. He took us to the hidden gems and we tried lots of amazing food and drinks. The Korean rice wine tasting was surprisingly my favourite part. Throughout the tour he showed us cool spots and gave us the history. He also gave us lots of stellar recommendations. 100/10

Mike did a great job.... - Mike did a great job. Showed us around the market and then took us to places we would never go. He had extensive knowledge of all the things we ate and drank. It was a great afternoon.

Highlight!! - I highly recommend this tour! Mike was extremely knowledgeable and even offered to take us all to karaoke afterwards. He is so kind and sent me tips after the trip for food elsewhere. The tour itself was so fun! Perfect mix of drinks and the food was so delicious and unique. Do not miss out on this trip! Thanks again Mike :)

Food Tour - Mike was a great tour guide taking us through different markets/restaurants I wouldn’t have known or thought to try. Tour included makgeoli tasting and at the end, Mike even helped our group going to karaoke. The five hours flew by. Awesome tour!

Mike is an excellent... - Mike is an excellent guide. He provides a good overview of some of the local food and drinks. He has a good background exploring the local food scene around South Korea with the understanding of taste bud differences between locals and foreigners. I definitely recommend attending early because he can provide some excellent recommendations during your travels that suite your itenerary.

Mike was GREAT!... - Mike was GREAT! Definitely a unique, off-the-beaten path kind of food tour, and I can't speak highly enough of this tour. We (low-to-mid 30s couple) have been on plenty of food tours around the world, and this is by far our favorite so far.
Mike prioritized taking us to delicious and classic food- not just the touristy or convenient spots. He's apparently sampled every single stall in the Gwangjang market and can tell you the pros/cons of each stall's food. After Gwangjang, he took us down some alleys to an amazing maekgoli place and a super hidden, locals-only type of restaurant where he guided us through basically a full meal of authentic and delicious food. We then finished at a rooftop with some classic pub-style food. There is absolutely zero chance any foreigner could find their way to any of these exact places; we didn't see a single other tourist anywhere after the Gwangjang market!
Throughout the whole tour, he really gave us the final say as to the speed and amount of food during the tour. His passion and charisma really shine through. After the tour, we reached out and he gave us a bunch of Seoul and Busan recommendations spanning food, beer, and skincare.
