30 Nov 2025: Awesome family desert experience at Khor Al Adaid dunes and inland sea - Review for 30 Nov 2025 experience _____ Unforgettable Family Desert Adventure – Excellent Value & Fantastic Guide - at Khor Al Adaid, near Mesaieed, Qatar We had an amazing experience on the Doha Desert Safari: Quad Bike, Camel Ride, Dune Bashing, Sandboarding & Inland Sea tour with our family of five — my wife and I, our 10-year-old and 8-year-old boys, and our 4-year-old daughter. From start to finish, everything was smooth and well-organised. Our guide, Sajid, truly made the difference. He was conversant, friendly, and very helpful throughout the trip. He shared stories about the areas we visited, which made the experience relatable. His dune bashing skills were also outstanding — thrilling yet controlled — and we felt safe the entire time, even with young children on board. Despite her age, our 4-year-old absolutely loved the experience, which pleasantly surprised us. That said, parents should note that every child is different, so mileage may vary depending on your child’s comfort level. I am happy to say that the experience fully met my expectations. ===== Highlights in chronological order: Quad biking: Well-run and enjoyable. As our children are still young, we kept to flat terrain for safety, but it was still great fun. For those seeking a more adventurous ride, the operator also offers buggy and ATV options as alternatives or add-ons, allowing you to tackle rougher, undulating dune terrain. Camel ride: A classic desert experience even if brief. Understandably, you cannot expect the guide to bring you on the camels beyond the area. But there’s an option to trek further for 70 QAR, albeit this must be agreed upon in advance as the itinerary is time-bound (4 hours). Dune bashing at Khor Al Adaid desert: Exhilarating and masterfully driven by Sajid — easily a highlight. Falcons: Holding and taking photos costs 20 QAR, which is well worth it for the experience. Sandboarding: Great fun sliding down the dunes, though the climb back up is tough, so doing it more than once may be challenging. Khor Al Adaid, Inland Sea: The water was cold, but the dip was refreshing and totally worth it. ===== Logistics & Value: We booked through booking.com. We went with Al Annabi Tourism, +97433330689. Overall value: Excellent — especially considering the variety of activities packed into half a day Helpful Tips: 1. After researching Booking.com, Viator, and Klook, this was the best offer with a discount. Do look up at least three operators to nab the best deal. 2. Bring easy-to-eat meals — we packed burgers, nuggets, and water. Also, eat 2–3 hours before the tour starts. 3. Negotiate add-ons beforehand with the operator. Options include buggy rides, ATV rides, and even stargazing. 4. Be mindful when choosing between half-day and full-day experiences, as the range of options can be overwhelming and sometimes confusing. To make a fair comparison, I recommend comparing like for like (e.g. half-day packages only). Some operators do not clearly list all included highlights, or offer key activities only as add-ons, so be sure to do your research carefully before booking. Overall, this safari, off-road adventure away from Doha city was a memorable, well-priced, and family-friendly adventure that we’d happily recommend — especially if you get Sajid as your guide! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
