Highlights
  • FoodTours.eu Copenhagen - This is the most comprehensive of our food tours and offers a unique insight into the Danish cuisine, the history and the recent changes it has undergone.
  • Torvehallerne - Here we will have several delicious tasting stops such as Michelin level cheese and organic chocolate. This is where the tour starts and ends.
  • Botanical Garden - We will talk about the wild plants and their importance to Danish cuisine as well as the historical importance of the gardens.
  • Aamanns Deli & Takeaway | Østerbro - We will have specially prepared smørrebrød (open faced sandwiches), the absolute best that Copenhagen has to offer of this most traditional dish. Please note that we sometimes stop at Café og Ølhalle 1892 on some days instead of this stop.
  • Rosenborg Castle - We will pass by this beautiful renaissance castle on some of our routes, mainly on Fridays and Saturdays. We do not guarantee stopping by the castle.
  • Workers Museum - Here we will be visiting the restaurant “Cafe og Ølhalle 1892”, the oldest restored workers pub in Copenhagen. We will sample their delicious smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) and a special pilsner. Please note that we won’t visit this location on all of our routes though- some days we visit Aamanns Deli & Takeaway instead.
  • Rundetarn - We will pass by this most famous landmark and hear about its history.
  • SKAAL - At this craft beer bar, we will each get to select a beer of our choosing, as we enjoy Danish beer culture and have a drink. Non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic ciders are also available.

Great combo of food & history - One of best food tours I’ve been on. Camila set a good pace and there were several good food & drink stops, with some city history nicely sprinkled in between. We started in the market w some excellent cheese samples & apple liqueur @ Unika & a Smorrebrod, then a short walk into to the nearby Botanical Garden & a taste of chocolate covered licorice. Then more smorrebrod & local beer at Worker’s Museum, followed by more local brew @ Skaal. Next we learned about the Round Tower & the oldest dormitory bldg while experiencing one of Copenhagen’s (organic) hot dog carts. Next, on to sweets! A visit to an historic candy-making & selling spot, then to pastries, and ending back at the market with some Summerbird chocolate. So much more than advertised! Highly recommend this tour. Only suggestion I have would be to offer tea or coffee w the pastry after all that beer. If need to cut something, I’d skip the visit to the Botanical Garden.

A great tour that goes beyond culiinary - We had booked the tour for our group of six. Toby was our guide, and he was excellent - giving us historical background and other information that went well beyond what I expected from a food tour. The tour is 4 hours and involves a considerable amount of walking, but you do get a good feel for the city area. All the foods we tried were great - don't plan on any big dinner afterwards...

Do not miss the food tasting walking tour! - Absolutely awesome. Walking, history with excellent food tastings. Started in morning with breakfast sandwich which was delish. Beer tasting, licorice dusted in chocolate, a traidonal lunch, 8th generation candy factory, cinnamon buns, cheese, and the best hot dog ever. The Danish have their game on. Our guide Mino was knowledgeable, kind and hospitable. We got a feel for the Danish culture, history and food. The food was delish and Mino was just great. Lots of walking so felt nicely paced. Small group and got to know the other attendees. 5+ stars. One of the best tours we have ever taken.

Great survey of Danish eats. - Simon was an excellent guide for this survey of Copenhagen cuisine. The food was excellent and Simon did a great job explaining the recent history and why we were trying each dish. Simon also gave me recommendations for local restaurants that I was able to use - they were fantastic. If you have a few hours, this is a tour you should take.
