- Back Beach - Also known as Thuy Van Beach, Back Beach is situated southeast of Vung Tau city and stretches for 4 km. It is one of Vietnam’s most stunning and popular beaches. Visitors can easily find suitable accommodations ranging from budget inns to luxury hotels.
The beach is lined with modern resorts offering a variety of recreational activities and sports for all ages. Notably, the Paradise resort features a world-class golf course spanning over 100 hectares. Additionally, there is a charming poplar forest with wooden bungalows designed in the style of Vietnamese highland architecture.
- The Whale Temple - Constructed in the late 19th century, the Whale Temple, also known as Ong Nam Hai Temple, has undergone several renovations to achieve its current form. It showcases ancient architecture with simple exterior features. Inside, there are three altars intricately carved with the four holy beasts: the Vietnamese dragon (Long), the Qilin (Lân), the Turtle (Quy), and the Phoenix (Phụng).
- White Palace - Traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau City, one can see hundreds of motorbikes and cars, along with thousands of people, heading for a weekend getaway to escape the stress, pollution, and hectic atmosphere of the city. Vung Tau is an ideal choice due to its proximity. Moreover, visiting Vung Tau offers more than just swimming; there are numerous landscapes and attractions to explore. - Christ The King Statue - The Christ the King statue is a distinctive architectural marvel located atop Mount Tao Phung. To reach this impressive monument, visitors must climb 800 stone steps. From the statue’s outstretched arms, one can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Vung Tau City.
- Mui Nghinh Phong - Watching the sunrise or sunset at Nghinh Phong Cape is an unforgettable experience, surrounded by a tranquil atmosphere and a refreshing sea breeze. From the hilltop, visitors can take in a sweeping view of the sea from above.

After that, you will take a short break at the Long Thanh cow milk on the way to Ho Chi Minh city and arrive around 7:30 PM.

Must see during Vietnam trips - Amazing places to visit and very kindly people there. Just visit at least once in a life. Main attraction and other interesting places are ready to be discovered.

Authentic Day Trip to Vung Tau – Culture, Nature, and Relaxation - Our day trip to Vung Tau was a delightful experience. The tour included visits to the White Palace, the Christ Statue, a temple, lunch at a beachfront restaurant, as well as a refreshing swim in the ocean. Overall, we found the experience enjoyable, and it was evident that our guide genuinely enjoyed leading the tour as well.
Vung Tau is not an overly touristic destination, which made the experience feel very authentic. Our guide’s English was adequate, but given that the tour was advertised as a luxury tour, we had slightly higher expectations in certain areas. For instance, providing chilled water bottles instead of warm ones would have been a thoughtful touch.
The highlight of our trip was the challenging but rewarding walk up to the Christ Statue. As temperatures in the area can be quite high, we recommend undertaking this activity either early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the heat.
Swimming at the beach was a pleasant experience, although we were disappointed to find that the much more scenic Back Beach in Vung Tau was closed due to construction work.
In summary, the trip was enjoyable and authentic, with a few minor improvements that could enhance the overall experience.

Great day out to Vung Tau - Informative guide, really enjoyed the beautiful town of Vung Tau. Highlight was the Jesus Statue a great view and an even greater accomplishment climbing all those steps! . The Palace was beautiful and was a good insight as to how the royals lived. I especially enjoyed cooling off with a swim at the beach.

Terrific day with James! - James was a great tour guide.

Great Tour - James was a great tour guide and went out of his way to make sure we were very informed about everything we were experiencing. Please ask lots of questions. We asked a few and got to learn so much.
Everything was really beautiful. Lunch was delicious. The food hasn't been good for many of our tours but this one was superb.
Some tips for this tour:
Make sure you're hydrated and that you have:
1- Good shoes for climbing
2 - Modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees to go into the Jesus Statue
3 - Flip flops or something similar for the beach

It was an experience - Traffic was terrible at no fault to the driver. V was a great guide but the fact that the main attraction was closed should be mentioned before hand

Bad traffic, adaptable guide - By the tour guide was amazing. Fun and adaptable. There was a major accident on the expressway which turned the 2 hour drive into a 6 hour 1 way trip. Then the statue of Jesus was closed. With that said Vy did her best to pivot and took us to another attraction which had amazing views.

Hmmm? - This is a long day...and for all the time spent driving was is worth it? Whale temple was for 30 minutes and sort of underwhelming. Learning about the spiritual beliefs of coastal fishing villages was interesting .Mui Nghinh Phong was on the list of places to visit, but we didn't. We got a view of it it from the Jesus Christ statue. That was a longer stop due to the 850 steps to get to the statue. Then about a 45 minute stop at the beach to sit in a chair and look at the ocean. If you really want to enjoy the beach you need to plan an overnight trip. Lunch - food was nice, restaurant location was nice, but the construction going on (jack hammer) was a destraction. The White Palace. was a 30 minute stop; some interesting historical facts. Nice views. Then another almost 3 hr trip back to HCM. We were not staying at a hotel on their list, so pick up and drop off presented some challenges.
