• The Tholos of Delphi - In the eighth century, the cult of Apollo prevailed, leading to the development of the sanctuary and oracle. The temples of Apollo and Athena, known as “Pronea,” were constructed towards the end of the 7th century. Athena was called Pronea because her sanctuary was among the first encountered when ascending from Delphi to Phocis. It is one of the oldest structures in Delphi.
• Ancient Gymnasium of Delphi - The Ancient Gymnasium of Delphi, a 4th century BC complex, included the scratch room and palaestra, along with auxiliary buildings like changing rooms and baths. It was located between the Athena Pronea Temple and the Castalia spring.
• Delphi - In ancient Greek history and mythology, Delphi was considered the geographical center of the world, or its navel. According to a Greek myth, Zeus released two eagles to find the earth’s center. They flew in opposite directions, and their paths crossed in Delphi.
