Excellent experience and extremely knowledgeable guide - Excellent walking tour, with clear and relevant information. John was also willing and able to expand on the information when questions were asked. We really appreciated his knowledge and his delivery of the tour.

Great tour-- fascinating, fun, and informative! - John was highly knowledgeable about the history of Liverpool and its place in shaping world history. He really does cover 800 years in two hours in a fun and thoroughly engaging way. I highly recommend doing this tour on your first day as he gives lots of great ideas for other things to do, eat, and see. I learned so many cool things and now I can't wait to visit Liverpool again!

Best Walking Tour I have Been On - This was one of the stand-out moments which we had in Liverpool. It's a walking tour, but you only really walk for around 1km or 2km and within this short, city-centre distance, the history of Liverpool is revealed in its geography (the River Mersey etc.) and its buildings. John is both fascinating and funny - and made it entertaining for adults and kids alike (we had two 12 year olds who loved it). I could not recommend this more!

Interesting walk with passionate guide. - Guide Chris took us on a 2 hour walk through Liverpool's history. He was so knowledgeable, and could tell his story with such passion that I could have listened to him for several more hours. I was actually sorry when the tour ended. Such a great guide and very interesting experience. As a fellow tour guide I was genuinely impressed.

Informative and thoroughly enjoyable walking tour with a knowledgeable historian. - A truly fascinating couple of hours. John really knows his stuff (he's a qualified historian), and takes you from the three Graces around the city, pointing out landmarks and explaining their history, until you end up on the city centre (a stones throw from the Cavern club). He explained how and why the city developed, and the technological innovations that made Liverpool a world leading port. He also gives advice about things to do in the city and places to eat and drink. Hugely enjoyable and educational. 10/10.

Worth your while - take cold-wind-appropriate clothing as you are left to listen exposed to the wind at some points of the trail. Water too. Your guide (we had John) is knowledgeable and well-informed. Two hours is a lot of time for info absorption but the guide will refer you back to previously mentioned pointers to help you correlate the history. There are times for required brisk walk and times for meandering. Wear comfortable shoes.

History 101 - Genuinely fascinating tour round some of the main sites in Liverpool. John was friendly and very knowledgeable. One of the better walking tours I’ve been on, I learned a lot I didn’t know, including facts about the UK and rest of the world, not just Liverpool. Recommended.

Really worthwhile experience - Really interesting, worthwhile tour. The guide has a wealth of knowledge. The content was really engaging. I was born in the area and have some local knowledge, and I still learnt a lot.
