- Antelope Island - Combine your trip to the Great Salt Lake with what I consider the only way to visit it by experiencing Antelope Island. This little known island is teaming with wildlife, and you can’t get the quiet of wilderness by simply visiting it near I-80. We will spot for the wild herd of 600 American Bison roaming the island. Amongst the Bison we’ll watch for coyote, bobcat, antelope, porcupine, big-horn sheep, mule deer and if the season is right up to 200,000 migratory birds. You can truly experience Nature in its finest form on this beautiful island. After wildlife spotting, we’ll hike to Buffalo Point on the Island to watch the sunset and take in the breathtaking views.

We have bug spray for the mosquitos, and hats/bug nets for the biting gnats. Midges do not bite.
The Hike is .9 miles round trip. It has a couple steep parts on dirt, but it’s very well traveled. I would designate this as a moderate hiking difficulty, which is less than a mile.
The Tour Vehicle is a 10 Passenger Ford Transit Passenger Van with a High Roof and really great large windows in the back for viewing.

Amazing - Amazing tour. Garth was so knowledgeable and funny. We saw hundreds of Bison and got within 10 feet of them.

Best Tour for Enjoying Salt Lake City Nature! - The tour was absolutely perfect! Everything was well organized, and the explanations about Utah were very informative. The island is the perfect place to enjoy nature in Salt Lake City, and you can even see animals, especially buffaloes! During sunset, the water reflects a beautiful pink color, which makes the experience even more magical. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of SLC!

Great experience - We had a fun tour with Garth. We saw bison herds roaming and a lot of seagulls. The view was spectacular. We had great weather, but the wind was very strong at sunset. Garth was very patient and let us take the time to enjoy the views. At the time of arranging the tour, we had to change the date unexpectedly, and Garth kindly accommodated our needs even with very short notice.

Buffalos, Baby Owl, & Deer Sightings & Golden Hour Hike - I was in Salt Lake on temporary assignment for College Board AP Reading & someone said she booked this tour after our work day. She asked me to join her, but it was sold out. After seeing her pictures, I booked it solo for the next day. I wasn’t going to miss seeing Antelope Island after traveling from the East Coast! Going solo was a bit out of my comfort zone, but Sarah, the fabulous guide was so welcoming and showed us all a great time. I discovered that a number of the people who booked the tour were also working for the college board and we all had fun. Sarah knew all the best spots to find animals and explained safety, history, etc. The hike was what you wanted it to be. Some people climbed the mountain. Others walked and enjoyed the area near the van. The sunset was breath taking. She drove us back to all of our hotels upon request. We got back to Salt Lake. It’s around 10:45. Worth every penny.

Highly recommended - amazing evening! - Awesome experience - Sarah, our tour guide was informative, friendly, and accommodating - even arranging to make sure our friends were scheduled on the same tour when they weren't originally. Saw tons of wildlife and had an amazing time!

Amazing time - highly recommended! - Amazing time - highly recommended. Went with friends as our finale after a long week at a conference. Initially we were split between tour groups, but the company was kind enough to work with us so we could all be on the same van. Our guide, Sarah, was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We saw a TON of animals - pronghorn, bison (herds with babies and one crossing the road!), burrowing owls, and pheasant. The hike and view was lovely. The perfect evening trip!

A whole herd! - Great guide, very informative and enthusiastic! We saw a large herd of bison and the hike to watch the sunset was great. Bugs were intense, listen to long pants and sleeves advice, use the bug spray and bug nets. Great experience, glad we took the time and went.
