Wonderful and memorable family trip to the Katherine Gorge and Edith falls from Darwin - Excellent tour experience with beautiful scenery, sights, and sounds during the trip; great, positive, and vibrant staff/ bus driver; warm and friendly; not too crowded; fees were included, so didn't need to buy any tour tickets; comfortable bus ride; good crowd size; long day but not tiring. Highly recommended for other young families, as the children also enjoyed the whole trip.

Nitmiluk NP-Katherine Gorge - A long day trip from Darwin, but our guide, Pascal, managed to show us so much in one day and gave us lots of interesting information along the way. The boat cruise along Katherine Gorge was amazing, such beautiful scenery, and I saw ancient aboriginal rock art, which was amazing. We even saw the water buffalo from Crocodile Dundee on our travels. 😄I really enjoyed the day.

A long but worthwhile trip - A great day out with our guide Daryl. Edith falls was an oasis and little stops along the way gave an insight to Australian life out in the country. Daryl had lots of information he passed on to us during the day. The boat trip down Katherine Gorge was superb, tranquil and the guide was very knowledgable. It was very very hot but plenty of water available. It’s so lovely that the gorge has not been commercialised and the whole place is very natural we didn’t see any other boats with tourists on!! It’s a very long day but totally worth it and the electrical storm in the at back was an experience too. Would recommend.

Great - Long day but totally worth it. Our guide Dylan kept us all engaged with his tales of Territory life. For a young guy his wise tales kept me entertained throughout the day. I even met up with an old nurse i trained with who was working at Katherine hospital and our plans changed from the itinery but Dylan took this in his stride and we went to the Hot springs instead. Nitmiluk gorge is beautiful, great boat trip. Plenty of stops to stretch etc. Loved it! Learnt about so much NT wildlife!

A wonderful part of the country, a disappointing experience. - The Gorge itself can never be disappointing. However I can't say the same for the driver/guide who appeared to actively dislike tourists. She actually laughed at one guy when he asked a question. Unfortunately we never received any information regarding the opportunity for swimming and so we had no swimmers with us. This meant we had to sit for 1.5 hours in the middle of the day, in extreme heat, whilst the others swam. The guide was totally disinterested. It was clearly not her problem and she sat and read a book the whole time. She made no effort to entertain us, she didn't even sit with us to chat. There was no apology and no effort to discover why we had not been notified. The day was spoiled for us.

I'm sure it's great when you can do everything on the itinerary - Overall, I was very disappointed by this tour. It was meant to be the highlight of my trip to Darwin but it was underwhelming. The main feature, a two-hour water cruise, lasted 1 hour 15 minutes. The boat driver explained that the usual walk couldn't take place because the bridge had been damaged in recent rain. We also didn't visit the well-known lookout, despite being directly below it. As a result, we spent approximately seven hours on the bus for a relatively short cruise experience. Although the gorge itself was nice, locals later told me that the section we visited is considered the least interesting part, which made the shortened experience feel even more disappointing. Additionally, we were unable to swim at Edith Falls. Instead, we were informed about a beautiful walk that we would NOT do because some members of the group were unable to walk far. Given that there were two guides on the tour, it seemed reasonable that those who wished to complete the walk could have done so with one guide. Instead, the group was taken to Katherine Springs, which, unfortunately, was not a particularly enjoyable alternative. There were also numerous lengthy bathroom stops and passengers were seated on the bus before the departure time, desperate to get going. While I understand that weather-related issues are outside the company’s control, this could have been communicated clearly at the time of payment so that customers could make an informed decision before booking. I’m staying in the region for two months and would simply have chosen to take this tour later in the year if I had had the full picture. I would be happy to accept another opportunity to do it if Autopia wishes to offer a replacement tour under conditions where the full itinerary can be experienced.
