Full eyes - You just take a lot of them in every corner of the garden, like inside the house. I've never seen such beautiful oak trees, 700 years old. When inside the house, between furniture, personal belongings and objects of art, it is superb and says a lot about the life of the owners. It's definitely worth the visit.

Lovely visit & stay but expensive. - Beautiful house and grounds but I found the guided visit a bit rushed. There was only the 2 of us on the visit and we were in and out in about 20 mins. It felt quite rushed and you don't see much of the house. I felt for the same price you saw more at Oak Valley Plantation with a more in depth visit. Food at the restaurant was very good, staff lovely. We stayed at the Plantation overnight which was lovely, beautiful room all perfect, however when you pay us$250 for 1 night I would have expected not to have to pay an extra us$35 pp to visit the house. Overall lovely place to see and stay but very expensive.

Fascinating lesson on the Civil War! - The tour started with the assertion that the Civil War was solely due to the north overtaxing the south and that the abolition of slavery was merely a by-product. Then slavery was not mentioned again a single time all while showcasing an opulence made possible not only by nutrient rich soil but also by huge amounts of free labor! Breathtaking! Another reviewer mentioned that the family was kind to the slaves, i.e., the human beings that they OWNED.

To flee!! - Worst excursion in the world!!! We arrived 15 minutes early we walk right to left. So that at the end to tell us that the band had already left for 10 minutes. The tour lasts 30 min pay as much to see 3 bedrooms 😱😱😱. Without comment I strongly recommend it is simply theft!!!
