DAY 1: DAR ES SALAAM TO SELOUS GAME RESERVE

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be warmly welcomed and then embark on a five-hour drive to Selous Game Reserve. Once there, enjoy a boat safari along the Rufiji River.

DAY 3 and 4: FULL GAME DRIVE

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Selous is renowned for its large populations of elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and the endangered wild dog.

DAY 4: SELOUS TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Following breakfast, drive approximately seven hours to Mikumi with a packed lunch. Relish the scenic journey across rugged roads that define unforgettable safaris for true adventurers! Mikumi is a small wildlife gem featuring hills, plains, and part of the famous Miombo Woodlands.

DAY 5: MIKUMI TO UDZUNGWA MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive about an hour to Udzungwa. Register at the main game area and embark on a walk through the dense rainforest to the Sanje River Waterfall. This hike takes three to four hours, offering exploration of the forest, stunning waterfalls, and sightings of the endemic red colobus monkey. At the top of the 180m Sanje waterfall, relax in idyllic plunge pools and admire African violets in the spray zones.

DAY 6: MIKUMI TO RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive with a packed lunch to Ruaha, passing through local villages and farms. The journey includes the Kitonga Hills, part of the Udzungwa Mountains, and follows the Great Ruaha River before ascending the Great Rift Escarpment.

DAY 7 AND 8: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Ruaha is home to one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations, estimated at around 12,000. The park is famous for its lion prides, giraffes, Grant’s gazelles, and zebras. The Great Ruaha River, vital to the park’s inhabitants, flows through the eastern side and hosts hippos, crocodiles, and various birds like the racket-tailed roller.

DAY 9: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive approximately seven hours back to Mikumi. The park is home to elephants, velvet monkeys, baboons, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, and more.

DAY 10: MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK TO DAR ES SALAAM

After breakfast, drive to Dar Es Salaam, stopping for a hot lunch in Morogoro.
