This 4-day Safari is crafted to take travelers to Mikumi and then Udzungwa, with extended time in Mikumi to observe the wildlife. Mikumi ranks as the 4th largest national park in Tanzania and promises abundant wildlife encounters. Visitors often come to Mikumi National Park with the goal of seeing the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and they are rarely disappointed. Hippo pools offer close views of these mud-loving creatures, and bird-watching along the waterways is especially rewarding. Udzungwa is the largest and most biodiverse, featuring a series of large, forest-covered mountains that rise majestically from the flat coastal scrub of eastern Tanzania. Known collectively as the Eastern Arc Mountains, this group of isolated massifs is often referred to as the African Galapagos due to its wealth of endemic plants and animals, most notably the delicate African violet.
