- Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya is a stunning example of ancient Sri Lankan art, architecture, and landscaping. Constructed over 1,600 years ago, the 600-foot-high black rock once appeared as a massive white cloud above the forests. Its sides were adorned with frescoes of semi-naked nymphs. A large lion-shaped gatehouse guarded the entrance to the Sky Palace atop the rock. Sigiriya briefly rose to prominence before being abandoned and hidden in the forests for nearly 1,500 years. The climb to the top is challenging but rewarding. A must-visit site!
- Oak Ray Woodcarving - From typical wooden elephant ornaments to intricately carved traditional masks, Oak Ray Wood Carving offers one of the most comprehensive wood carving collections in Sri Lanka. The ‘Oak Ray’ brand, primarily serving tourists’ hospitality needs, has expanded into the handicrafts niche, becoming a popular destination for finding the perfect memento of a journey around the Paradise Island of Sri Lanka.
