- City Palace of Udaipur - This magnificent complex consists of various palaces, museums, and gardens, showcasing a rich fusion of Rajasthani, Mughal, Medieval, European, and Chinese architecture. It stands as one of Rajasthan’s most stunning palatial structures. Originally constructed by Maharana Uday Singh II, it towers 30 meters above Lake Pichola and stretches up to 244 meters. The palace complex is entirely made of granite and marble. Its interiors feature balconies, towers, and cupolas adorned with intricate mirror work, marble work, murals, wall paintings, silver work, inlay work, and colorful glass mosaics. The upper terraces offer a splendid view of the lake and the city.
- Jagdish Temple - The next stop is the Jagdish Temple, located 150 meters north of the City Palace. This temple, built in the Indo-Aryan architectural style, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is a prominent landmark visible from almost anywhere in the old city center. The temple’s walls and shikara, or tower, are embellished with carvings of Vishnu, scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, and figurines of nymphs or apsaras. The street square at the base of the temple steps is known as Jagdish Chowk, from where several roads branch out in different directions.
- Lake Pichola - Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake created in 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. Over the centuries, the lake’s surroundings and several islands have been developed with palaces, marble temples, family mansions, and bathing ghats. The renowned Lake Palace, now a heritage hotel, is situated in the middle of the lake. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, are located within Lake Pichola. Local buses, auto rickshaws, and taxis are available for transportation.
- Vintage Collection of Classic Cars Museum - Take a brief visit to the Vintage and Classic Car Museum, which houses some of the rarest classic and vintage cars.
- Fateh Sagar Lake - This artificial lake was constructed by Maharana to the north of Lake Pichola in 1678, northwest of Udaipur. Fateh Sagar Lake contains three small islands. The largest is Nehru Park, the second island features a public park with a striking water-jet fountain, and the third island is home to the Udaipur Solar Observatory.
- Sahelion Ki Bari - Built by Maharana Bhopal Singh, Sahelion Ki Bari, meaning Garden of the Maids, is located in the northern part of the city. It features fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool, and marble elephants. Each water channel produces a unique sound, creating a harmonious ambiance. There is also a small museum here. Sahelion Ki Bari was designed for a group of 48 young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry.
